She was wanting liberal policies which leads me to believe she will vote for dems at election time. I don’t know how to say this but I have friends that left California for some of the same reasons but have moved back. Let just say the grass is not greener on the other side. As a Californian, I am also looking to move to Tennessee. It has become too expensive here, and the laws being passed are horrific.
I tried this move to TN. I lasted 2 years there. It was not that great. Weather Shock is one thing you will get. Bugs, swampy climate and VERY EXPENSIVE city living. Nevada is my state and always will be.
If you are near the Smoky Mountains the bugs are way better and not swampy.

I am a California gal that has lived in Illinois- Utah and Montreal -!I thought Montana would be good cuz closer to California and affordable when I moved here . Culture is not what I had hoped for - folks are not inclusive to new folks - even though I came here In 2011 . It’s like I am still new . I do most everything alone now that the kids grew up . Chicago is a mess and the governor of the state is just ridiculous and pathetic on so many levels. The weather has always sucked most of the year and companies have moved to more pro-business states. Sad. Born in the city, raised mostly in the suburbs, yet can't wait to get out.

IT is already over no-one even thinks of My Cali anymore. When I was a child Hollywood was the movie capital NOW Georgia is Whan I was a child LA was the music capital NOW Nashville is. Oh the name and the buildings are there BUT do not get to close as they are surrounded by homeless barbarians (and growing). IF you are young, an artist, a bohemian or want a reasonable way of life you do NOT even say the word Cali. Just happens the US and the World has shifted EAST.
@@tombussio4979 YEA just as the "business" end stayed in NY AS the music part shifted to my LA in the 60s. BY the way before Haight Ashbury and San Francisco. It had already shifted to LA. NOW all those office building in LA are EMPTY and no-one is coming back THE business end will shift EAST as well. Or with tech spread out even further. Just takes time as it always has. AND I agree shifts all the time . Currently seems England makes all the movies.
So he thinks moving to Tennessee makes him a Tennessean, after growing up and living in California his whole life? 😂 Well, lol, he is going to get a rude awakening! I grew up in Atlanta and moved to Colorado for 20 years, then moved to Tennessee to get married 24 years ago. I don't think that made me a Tennesseean. It's a decent place to live. But if he's anywhere around Nashville, he'll find out about the traffic soon enough! I'm Thankful that I got here when I did, because things were a lot more laid back and cleaner, and it wasn't expensive then. Now it's overbuilt, especially around downtown, so it's not as pretty and enjoyable as it used to be.

Please pray for us that are forced to stay behind in California beyond our control. May God have mercy on those us left behind. Because of multiple health conditions since adolescence I am 60% why my family must remain behind.There are only so many trauma one level hospitals that are able to provide care that I require. I am welcome to visit other places however to remain I must have a support system for when become ill with for example the flu.
Overall Roseville, Placer County , California is one of the nicest places to be considering my circumstances.

I feel sorry for the people who can’t leave CA because Newsom is leaving them broke.
People that have any money should leave as soon as possible-isn't that law going to go in effect that TAXES you for leaving California? Or did it not pass? I think it would be unconstitutional. Many years ago, NY tried to tax pensions of people in Florida because the money "was earned in NYS" (it never went through but was proposed). Truly criminal
