    The sad thing compared to Merrin is that he comes with a higher internal level than her as well (17 vs 15), so the stat difference is amplified even further given he's more difficult to level.
    I'm planning on using him on my next run where I ignore the absurdly high base stat units (Kagetsu, Pandreo, Merrin, etc.). Compared to the other lords, his base class is probably the biggest bait given how poor his offense is - agree on reclassing to Warrior.

    Warrior is the one unit that’s a backup unit that can use bows.
    I give him Lucina’s ability that lets units back up attack from wherever they can move to. Now he can shot everything as a small damage bonus for all your other units. Also makes Claud’s S bond ring almost viable on him.

    If you to run Cupido, it's surprisingly good with the Roy ring, which isn't really a highly contested ring to begin with. It provides a good deal of strength to help him out, gives him the extra mov when engaged for being a cavalry, and Hold Out is basically the only thing that makes the Back at You skill somewhat usable. If you really want to invest in him, you could probably run him on warrior for a while for the growths, and switch him back to Cupido for the endgame after you get Roy back. I don't think he's worth doing all that, but it's certainly possible

    The well pretty consistently drops SP books, throwing in 5 steel weapons puts you at 4 starts and nets you 500-600 sp as well as silver weapons.
    SP is not much of an issue anymore.

  • @elijahkoblan-huberson9666

    First off, loving the content! And second, I would argue Cupido Fogado with Lucina is highly effective. In my mind it’s better than flyer Alear with Lucina since he can get avoid with bow agility and can bonded shield your mage knights and wolf knights during enemy phase, while having insane dual assist++ with the longbow. This theoretically uses the skill back at you, in that the rare times he doesn’t avoid he has a chance to pay back the damage (altho he’s rarely targeted so I don’t see this happen haha). This provides way more utility than sheer damage on Warrior which Panette already offers (on my team anyways).

    • @elijahkoblan-huberson9666
      @elijahkoblan-huberson9666 Před rokem

      @@priestessii Yeah fair enough, although that's a waste of Alear in my eyes. His dragon typing bonus isnt worth him completely falling off as a damage unit and shield bonding wastes their player phase damage potential, (I have Roy on wyvern Alear, it absolutely fucks). Fogado isn't doing much damage outside of radiant bow usage and that won' t always be needed. Fogado also has better range with chain attack and dual assist with the longbow than Alear on flyer, since most enemies are the ground anyways and you one can shot flyers. I truly believe Lucina's best pairing is with Fogado, unless you want to waste Alear's potential.

    While he doesn't have Chloé's passive, he can also do the martial Master Eirika build thanks to his +3 speed cap and good speed growth. Just make sure to wait until after ch17 for the speed scroll before you switch

  • @Haseo13darkness
    @Haseo13darkness Před rokem +2

    I find that Fogado is at his best in either Bow Knight or Sniper with a brave bow and Erika and
    Lunar brace makes his brave bow hit like a tactical nuke, late game if you picked bow knight and hes fast enough to reliably quad with it, and if you went sniper you can just pick up build +3.
    And to cap it off, Erika gives some magic to use the radiant bow not that he needs it becuase having Lunar Brace plus an armorslayer will LITERALLY punch holes in armored units
    An interesting note btw, I see Lunar Brace proc when I shoot the radiant bow but i havent done any testing to see if its actually increasing the damage.

    • @Haseo13darkness
      @Haseo13darkness Před rokem

      @@priestessii i havent done any extensive testing with the build.
      it was really just that bow knight and sniper have slightly higher STR but Cupido works also theoretically.

  • @justwantawholename
    @justwantawholename Před rokem +1

    So after trying to find different hosts for Eirika, Fogado is definitely a top contender.
    You always want her active, and Fogado will be quading with brave bow almost always thanks to his speed. He's a strong radiant bow user, which benefits from Eirika's mag stat increase. And he annihilates the big siege dragons with twin strike thanks to the Calvary boost.
    Give him Canter and long bow and he's always outside of danger. He won't touch his swords at all.
    The only other units that compete with his speed is Kagetsu (who's probably using another emblem) or Merrin (I have her on Sigurd right now)

  • @Haha-ey2in

    I find that radiant bow fogado ends up scaling pretty nicely, with a few magic dust and inheritting magic+ allows him to actually 1 round a lot of enemies even in end game maddening. Higher speed than mages too which can allow him to kill where someone like anna may not be able to. With Claude he can also attack from 3 range, not sure what emblem rings to use if not S claude ring tho. Although for physical, warrior is the way to go like you said.

    You mentioned the ancient well so I'll bring it up, it's based purely on money value:
    1 star: 0
    2 star: 1000
    3 star: 5000
    4 star: 10000
    5 star: 20000
    Mind you it appears to be the buy value of weapons, so it can be a lot more beneficial than selling. It also seems to be returning greater total value, but it's random. In theory if you only have enough for 3 star, you could keep putting stuff back in to eventually have 5 stars worth of item value.
    There's a spreadsheet in the serenes forest forums, but I suspect they'll add it to the main site soon

  • @garsenchannel556
    @garsenchannel556 Před rokem +1

    Fogado is an excellent example of how Stat Boosters (no DLC) can help customize a unit. Cupido is one of his best options with just one Spirit Dust. Thats not to say you shouldn't feed him the next couple you get because compared to mages hes just got no Mag growth. But thats okay! The Radiant Bow is his Prf weapon. Heres why:
    After running Maddening and using a Starsphere Anna on Bow Knight all game, I can confirm Radiant Bow Anna with Wind God is absolutely disgusting and wanted to use her in a No-DLC run. Sadly, her noodle-arms without Starsphere helping her Build just won't do compared to just reclassing say Merrin to Bow Knight (we'll get to that).
    So I found that Fogado actually has great base Mag, Speed, and Build, and a personal class that keeps his Mag and Speed growth going decently for this setup that Radiant Bow's weight won't hinder him, and its Mt will obviously become a powerhouse with his decent Mag. Specifically, one Spirit Dust you can get easily earlier will boost his Mag just behind my Anna by -1. His Speed+Build ends up being +1 over mine at the same level. This means, you can run a marginally worse Radiant Bow build I did with Starpshere Anna with no DLC. This Anna is a unit that could attack 3 range, 1 shot any flier (78Mt +24Mag), doubled just about anything other than Swords/Knives. I only used Starsphere and +3 Speed skill, eventually got Canter in endgame when Build from Starsphere reached about 11. So, Fogado starts with some SP over early units and doesn't need to spend 1500 on Star, can invest in Lyn's Spd+3 right away and get canter from Sigurd a little later or whatever you prefer.
    Looking at Stats, Merrin and Pandreo and maybe others can run this, too. However, Fogado can promote and use an Emblem ring on the chapter you get Merrin, and units like Merrin have better/different potentials with S Knives on Wolf for instance. This makes him surprisingly low investment for a guy that just needs a M. Seal and Radiant Bow which is easy to early forge for earlier chapters, and cheap to upgrade relative to big tomes you can compare this build to on an MK.
    Fogado's personal class also has MUCH higher stat caps in Mag and Speed, but these will likely not matter in Maddening so units running this build in Bow Knights may cap out at Endgame while Cupido will likely end the game with their stats.

  • @declanm810
    @declanm810 Před rokem +3

    Imo Warrior is the best class for him. It’s +6 STR and -2 MAG compared to Cupido, so it patches up his damage with regular bows. Radiant Bow access is no joke, as you said. It’s super cheap to forge and starts at 19 Mt. I do agree stat-wise that Merrin basically beats him out in essentially every stat, but she won’t be able to hit high Def enemies anywhere near as well.
    The only other Warrior that can Rad Bow better than him is Anna, who obviously has the opposite problem though with her terrible strength and build.
    …part of me does want to try Sage or Mage Knight Fogado though, purely for the memes.

    • @ultrose7379
      @ultrose7379 Před rokem

      I disagree with the idea that merrin doesn’t hit high def enemies as well as fogado. If you made them both warrior, merrin would still do radiant bow better. Because she has 1 more magic then him along with the same magic growth and is 2 levels lower along with everything else she has that’s better then him. I still think fogado is good since being a worse merrin isn’t a bad thing but she really does do everything better then fogado. Even fogado’s bow prof doesn’t matter since you have lyn to get bow prof and silver bow is worse then radiant bow for fogado. Also she has 1 more build then him so she’s only losing 1 spd from radiant bow as well. So better stats all around including magic and she’s a lower level.

  • @topazbennett95
    @topazbennett95 Před rokem +1

    One build I ran with Cupido as more of a meme on one of my Maddening runs was trying to desperately make use of Back at You. Basically I got him Resolve from Ike, gave him HP+ from Corrin as high as I could go, and gave him an engraved Levin Sword. When Celica rejoins the party, I put her ring on him, and in combination with warding stance, he was dealing a fair chunk of health back to enemies that could hit him. Was it optimal? Absolutely not, it is 100% a meme build, and I don't recommend it on a serious maddening run, but it was extremely hilarious. If I could go back and do it again, I'd just save SP for when you get Roy back and get him Hold Out+. I'd do it again on a more casual run, but I don't really recommend it for Maddening unless you want something funny to do on a more tedious map or on a Tempest Trial.
    To make Fogado good, I'd still follow all the advice in this video, but the Celica/Fogado pairing was actually pretty good all things considered and I'm interested to play with it on future maddening runs even without the meme build. Fogado has a shocking amount of versatility that, while not overtly useful in Maddening, makes him fun to poke and prod at with weird skills and weird builds which is part of the reason he's one of my favorite units to run.

    For what its worth, one point of dex only gives half a percent in crit and 2 points in hit. Looking at the emblem engravings, there are ones that give 20 or 30 crit and hit, which basically is equivalent to like 10 or more points in dex.
    I'm pretty confident that dex is by far the worst stat point for point. +3 dex is a 1.5% increase in crit and a 6% increase in hit. Assuming your hit rate is around 80%, this is something like 8% increase in expected damage. Compare that with strength +3 (around 15% increase assuming you're hitting 20's) or speed +3 (let's say it doubled your damage a fifth of the time, so a 20% increase) and it isn't close.

    Fogado is the only secondary Royal I didn’t bring with me in the final battle. And I really feel bad about it. What Fogado lacks in attack power and Luna like Alcryst he makes up for by being a Cavalry Unit who is the best user of the Radiant Bow due to his so-so Magic and Speed (which skyrockets with Lyn as his Emblem). And his gets access to Swords, giving him an alternative way to fight.

    One small issue I have with your character videos across games, you can't help but compare them to other units and that is bad dude. Imagine if you had a highlight reel, and whoever did it, constantly kept putting other people in your reel to potential recruiters, in a negative light to boot. It's annoying in that way, otherwise you do a well enough job.
