Because it's using the English accent, you gotta tell it to imitate the languages accent. Although I'm surprised it slightly changed its tone for the Japanese one
It sounds worse when it mixes chinese within an english sentence. However, if it speaks an entire sentence in chinese with no english, it sounds much better (eg it would actually get the right tones zao3an1, though still not native)
Turkish wrong too... now the old voice model it speaks perfect in any language including Turkish but a bit robotic, no human expressions, pauses etc.. i dont think this new model forgot the speak Arabic or Turkish.. it must be at least as good as recent one.. just in context, if you ask to speak multiple languages, it confuses and made accents on some languages and it doesnt sounds like native speaker.. it sounds like an american try to speak other languages.. but if you start the conversation on any language and keep it that way, it speaks very good. chatgpt voice capabilities are not top notch tho.. there is suno and udio music generators.. i create one single song with multiple languages (up to 40) and it usually generates great results.. i mean, it can speak and sing 40 languages in 4 minutes without any issue.. and it surpasses even capabilities of google .. google translation recognise fewer languages ans speaks.. but suno knows hundred of world languages and read those alphabets and sings in those languages. (yes i tried myself) it can read all different alphabets/letters.. except one: Tibetian.. it did not recognize the script.

I am native turkish speaker and turkish pronunciation is very very bad. Even google voice better.
