$125k a year? If you have student loans and make that much money and can't make ends meet then it would be a good idea to re-evaluate your finances. This is provided if your family is no bigger than four people.
I have student loans and wish I could pay them. When I went to college, the school lied to me and guaranteed that they would find me a job that would pay my loans back. The only problem is that the degree that I received from that college chain is toilet paper in the industry that I applied for. Basically a waste of time and money. The worst part is that college chain went out of business years later for lying to students about getting leading industry jobs and overcharging for classes, among other things. Now I'm disabled and can't work a full time job to pay them back. I want to pay my loans but can't even make the minimum payment. Sure I could use some help but I certainly don't agree with how this is being done though. It should have gone though proper due process in congress and a vote of the people.

So fully forgiving PPP loans to corporations is okay, but bailing out middle class individuals isn’t? I really don’t get the logic here and maybe someone can help me understand.

The only people who are mad are people who don't like biden and people who already paid their loan and are mad that they didn't get the forgiveness.

2 things. PPP loans were voted on and passed as law by Congress. While Biden/Department of Education, tried to do such through presidential decree/departmental policy. The constitution clearly outlines that the House chamber has the power of the purse.
Secondly, going to school is a choice. While shutting down our economy and forcing businesses closed, was not a choice.

Or... Not have to go to college because only 12% of boomers had a degree, which meant it wasn't require to get a decent job. Today, over 50% of millennials have a degree, so it's hard to compete without one. Also, Gen X went 20k to 30k in debt at most for the same degree that will set you back 120k to 150k in debt. Any one who doesn't see the problem is oblivious to how much more college costs today.

82k is the poverty line in San Francisco... So... This whole 120k number is arbitrary. 120k is a lot for South Carolina, it's just a lower middle class person in San Francisco or New York. Clearly, your a boomer who didn't have to deal with the high costs of college today, which continues to increase at a rate on average of $3000 per year. My boss went to high school, walked into a manager job at a furniture store, rented a 3 bedroom apartment in a rich part of SF, and bought a new Jaguar with said salary. Today, you can't afford that if your a doctor in San Francisco. Times have changed so much. You can't get a decent job anymore without a college degree. Over 75% of San Franciscans have a college degree. And over 50% of millennials have a college degree. Compared to 12% of boomers. College is the new high school degree, and my entire generation has two options: Low paying jobs for life, or go to college and gain massive amounts of debt.

Oh please, now we are concerned about what is fair?! Let’s consider that incomes aren’t growing as much as they should be, a decent starter homes have doubled or tripled in cost, and compound interest will have a lot of people paying off debt until they’re in their 50s - that is UNFAIR. The Boomers sold the Zoomers and Millennials a future of prosperity by going to school and we bought it. The problem is, it’s not the same economic climate as they experienced when they were in school. Even if loans aren’t forgiven, we need to an answer as to why the schools are allowed to even charge so much to begin with!

  • @shauntikayvette

Why isn’t anyone speaking on how the program took advantage of and harmed Americans trying to get a leg up? Too many Americans are bogged down in 5-6 figure student debt that aren’t buying homes, starting families, opening businesses etc. that will absolutely impact the economy more as they age with nothing but debt that never pays off due to compounding high interest. And there are many other non-challenged forgiveness programs so this is just a manipulation topic.

So 90% of workers in America would have to pay $20,000 toward the education of these young people who signed up for the debt while most of those 90% didn't get their college degree due to not feeling they could afford the indebtedness. So, now the government is going to take from them to pay for those who have the degree and should be better equipped to pay it. This makes no sense at all. Most of those who are asking for debt forgiveness should have go e to a community college or trade a trade school and learned how to do something meaningful.

Here’s the thing they’re are leaving out of these “poor students”. People literally are living off student loans. They can work part time, go to school part time, continue to take deferred loans out as long as they sign up for courses. The schools aren’t going to tell them “no” to applications because it’s how they get money. @@DirtyTurtle67 Christians must be followers in faith and truth. Hypocrisy discredits those claiming to follow the gospel. Why are so many arguing against helping the needy on a Christian network.

I want a new car. I don’t have the money because I made decisions that have left me in this position of paying for other things. I’m an American so I want taxpayers to pay for my new car. It’s the American way.
