  • Had to pull the 1974 Allis Chalmers 7030 out of "retirement". Dad's Allis Chalmers 7045 lost all transmission power. I believe it lost the torque limiter. So the 7030 will fill in for now.

My Dad’s 1952 Allis-Chalmers ( bought new) wide front plowed, disk, planted, cultivated, harvested, hauled logs and firewood and everything else for over 25 years on 300 acres of rotation crops. We averaged about 150 acres a year in corn, wheat, oats and hay and plowed a lot of neighbors gardens. To this day it’s never been apart or even had a clutch. It’s got a little blow by but no visible smoke running and never misses a lick. Allis-Chalmers built the greatest, smoothest running, long lived equipment ever made. I don’t even hear any resonance in that machine, just a solid, steady mechanical mule pulling with heart. My dad’s father, my grandfather, was born in 1879 and was 24 years old when the Wright Brothers overcame the bounds of sands and soil and gravity. Now GPS in the heavens lay out the rows of a tractor.

Allis Chalmers, among many companies built some seriously impressive machinery back in the day! Today's machinery is arguably more impressive than anything built 70 years ago, but to believe that it will still be working fields in 70 years I think is only a dream. Glad you enjoyed, thanks for watching!

I like that set up. I’ve got a 5 shank applicator with a tank on it and it’s not nearly as nice as that.

Couldn’t get me to run that setup. Nh3 on a open station could get pretty western in a hurry.

You ain't kidding! Sometimes you have to work with what you have. Thanks for watching!

Did this tractor have a year around cab and now it has 200 series fenders. ?

It had a Full-Vision cab that was put on in the late 70's. I pulled the cab and built brackets to put the 200 fenders on it a couple years ago.

@@Randys_Relics we have a 7040 with the cab cut off. Boy does that make those a really nice tractor to use without the cab. Eventually we will get a platform and fenders and make it a little more the way it should be
