I get goosebumps every time I listen to “Fake Monk” and “Child” I also love the emotion expressed in “I Really Want to Love This World”. Love the songs which the above post recommended as well. Other favourites include “Salt of the Earth,” “Thousand Miles Away from Loneliness” and “The Flower in the Small Town”(traditional instrument version). For pure performance art, watch his “Cancer”. Even after so many years, his duet with Juno Su “Nanping Evening Bell” still rank among the top of my must-listen playlist.

Thank you to those who recommended this song, however, it does not showcase HuaHua's vocal power and songwriting ability, nor does it showcase HuaHua's deeply philosophical lyrics. This song is part of the 5th. album released at the end of the year 2022. The closing song on the album is great. "Illusion and Reality" is one of the most beautiful songs and the summary of the entire album. Also all the recommendations in the comments are amazing. I wouldn't have recommended this as an introduction to Hua Hua. It's quite "pop" orientated for him. He is more Rock/Metal/Rap based. I'd recommend "Nunchucks" as a better intro. It's not in my own Top 50 Hua Hua Performances, but it has several genres in one song. As does the heavier "7 Personalities", or "Bullfighting". "Aliens", "Jackdaw Boy", "Dust in the Fireworks". He has a beautiful angelic "Child", and genuinely dozens better than this. Also worth a look at his "Flying Conductor/Take Flight" which was written by a British Composing team for a Video Gaming Competition. It's pure Rock. But, this MV (unlike even the live version of it in his Mars 2021 Concerts) is struggling to get into my Top 100 Hua Hua Performances. Sad, that this was your introduction to the greatest Performer on the Planet. Think David Bowie, Freddie Mercury, Elton John, Matt Bellamy, Prince, Bruno Mars all wrapped in one person. Hope you give Hua Hua another chance. 👍
I would suggest Here we are from the Mars chapter (online concert 2022) because it shows another dimension of him. And there are many.
This song is playful and light hearted, his other more serious songs will shock you and jaw dropping. Subscribed for more reaction.🙏❤️

Thank you for bringing us Hua Chenyu. I love this song, actually i love all his work. But i wouldnt have recommended a MV to a vocal coach.. for the very first reaction. I’d probably go for live songs like Qi Tian, 7 Personalities, Madhouse, Bullfighting or some of his masterful rearrangements like the often reacted to Child, Nunchucks or the duet Nanping Bell. My personal favourite is 7P
U r so right.. I was shock this mv was recommended to a new reactor.. mv is great just that it is not suitable fr this case.
@@astarz7141 Oh i think you misunderstood me just a little bit or i was unclear. I meant to a vocal coach in particular… then i would suggest a song that showcase his singing technique and abilities, give them something to analyze. To other reactors i could choose any other song.. from the Zoo to whatever… not necessarily the most spectacular ones. Depends what music genre the reactor prefers too… All his MVs are absolutely brilliant imo btw, with Aliens and Bullfighting on top

Thank You for your reaction! Our beloved Hua Hua 💖 is a great composer-singer-performer. His own compositions are masterful and when he makes a cover he turns the original song into his unique style. I suggest You "When the whole world forgets me" and "Illusion and reality" from his 5th album "Hope". They are very interesting. Also Seven personalities, Ashes from firework, Aliens, Madhouse, Bullfight, Quasimodo's gift, Que Tian (I love this one), etc. And covers like Child (beautiful) or Fake Monk (out of this world).
Hua Chenyu is my favourite singer. He is a genius music composer and arranger, the most versatile singer and performer . I love to see your reaction to Black and White Artist of his live performance from his 2021 Mars Concert. The song and also Airplane mode are both from his newest album Hope
I adore his live performances, for me he is the spiritual successor to David Bowie, his stage presence, charisma and musicality are fantastic.
Black and White Artist is a great track, the performance from the live concert is so fun.

Hua Chenyu called himself a rocker.. But he is much more than that.. do check out more of his live performance. He never fail to amaze any1 live on stage.

I love the music of Hua Chenyu, despite me not understanding the language he has a way of portraying emotions that is lacking in a lot of other singers.
As well as being a singer and multi-instrumentalist (piano, guitar & flute amongst others) Hua Chenyu writes most of his own songs, and re-arranges those he does as covers, often so drastically that they bear little resemblance to the original songs.
I would suggest looking at "Child", "Qi Tian", "Salt of the Earth", "Madhouse", "Conversations with Martian Children" amongst others.
His live performances are also amazing, as he can reproduce his tracks brilliantly live, with the aid of his long-term backing musicians. For live performance with TV quality the "I am singer" 2018 & 2020 performances are excellent quality, however they can be blocked by the TV company.
I'm so glad you keep suggesting Salt of the Earth. Before 7 Personalities that was my favorite song of his, and I still think it's one of his most important songs. The lyrics raise questions that every thinking person asks sooner or later, and we all know Hua Hua is a thinker of the highest order.
@@JerisEve I know! I think that many people recommend the "flashy" songs with the extremes, but don't necessarily look at some of his best performances.
7P is one of my top tracks too although illusion & reality is newly up there (I need to see what he does with it to see if it has staying power!)
Two other personal favourites are "I really want to love the word" & "I really want the old me back" but they are so sad they bring me to tears every time and not suitable for new reactors on the whole :)
@@monskiethemonsk6461 Agreed. They make me cry too, and they're fabulous companion pieces. I worry about suggesting those or Fake Monk or Dad, I'm Home to new reactors. Some reactors quit after Fake Monk, and I understand, though it's a shame. It creeped me out bad the first time I heard it. When I think what I would have missed if I hadn't given it a second chance. (My daughter still won't, and she throws a fit if I try to listen to it without headphones. It gives her nightmares.) As soon as I realized it was performance art, it was obvious it's a masterpiece. Now I can't get enough of it. Still undecided on Illusion & Reality. So far my fave on #5 is Flower in a Small Town.
@@JerisEve Yes, some of his pieces that stay with you the longest are the most powerful, and complex ones that have depth and you appreciate the complexity over time. Some beautiful pieces perhaps should come with an "emotional hazard" warning. I love his emotional pieces, but I can sit and listen to them on my own with tears streaming, they are not the ones I put on in the car!

Thank you for reacting to Hua Chenyu, one of the top composers/performers in China. Airplane Mode is probably not one of his songs I would have recommended to a vocal coach as it's one of a few fun songs in his repertoire but I very much enjoyed your analysis and comments, I do hope you won't just put HuaHua in the pop singer category though, he's truly much more than that. HuaHua is an amotional singer and a deep thinker, he uses his voice as an instrument to best convey his emotions in a song and never fails at it. His composing skills are quite unique, his beautiful music is always paired with deep lyrics. Songs like Child, I Really Want to Love this World, or 7 Personalities are well worth a reaction to see his versatility and vocal ability. Hua Hua is a mad genius and many of his songs showcase his unusual musicality and epic vocals. This song however is sort of the opposite of what most of us crave in listening to him. The other Martians will suggest things but for me I love Nunchuks, bullfighting, I don’t Care, Fake Monk and so many others that will blow your mind. FYI - Hua Hua is my number 2 with Dimash Qudaibergen being my all time # 1 vocalist.

I love Hua Hua for so many reasons, although a good singer, he is first and foremost a creative soul. His music is typically very meticulous with different layers for interpretation... Sometimes he is playful, other times philosopical, critical and/or emotional in his message. Regardless, nothing he does musically is by chance. Please check out some of his performances on Singer 2018 such as "Equal to Heaven", "Nunchucks", "Child", "I Don't Care" and "Fake Monk". It is a good place to start. If you like his performances you should check out some of his newer music.

Unfortunatly not. 😅 He is doing his Mars concerts once a year for multiple days mostly at one place and only in China. 2021 6 days in Haikou for example. Over 5 hours performance time per day splitted in an more casual afternoon concert ( with chatting with his martians/playing games between the songs) and the mindblowing evening concert. Every martian (Martians is the name of his fanbase) dreams about to go home to Mars ( his concerts). He is amazing live and he has such an amazing bond with his martians. 🤩🥰

Subscribed in hopes that you will do more of Hua Chenyu. You'll never regret it; he's the 8th wonder of the world. I'm 71, and I've never heard anything like him. People sometimes try to compare him to David Bowie, but personally I think he goes way further than Bowie. I've been a Martian for 5 1/2 years, and I haven't been this excited since the Beatles. Andrea Bocelli!!! Wow. I still remember the first time I heard him. I'll spare you the story, but it's a great one. You are so lucky, and you must be really good. He doesn't perform with pikers.

Aloha Carlos! I am glad you are finally reacting to Hua Hua. He is just a musical genius like a Dimash. He composes most of his songs and mixes genres too. While Dimash has the best voice and talent in the world, Hua Hua is an exceptional theatrical performer. Try checking out Great Sage to Heaven, Nunchucks, Jackdaw Boy and Bullfight for starters. You will see just how talented he is! Also other talents that came out of Singer was Zhou Shen and Jam Hsaio (Lion Band). Good luck and warm wishes on your channel! By the way, Dimash did a tribute to Michael Jackson on that show with Laure Shang. He sang the best version of Unforgettable Day (which he composed when he was 19).
