So as you all know mark was born in Canada, so that means he was brought up knowing the limits and that boys being very touchy can be something else, hence him being uncomfortable sometimes when haechan is doing the most and other members touchy or whatever . While haechan was brought up in sk where boys being touchy basically means that they are very close friends and nothing more. Sometimes you can see mark accepting haechan more, but you can also see him thinking some things through. Out of everyone, I’d say mark would be cautious in certain things and could be confused after countless attacks of touchy behaviour from haechan

Being an august baby like my daughter if he was 12 and still in school that would be grade 7, so last year of elementary school. Kids here, even as recent as 8 years ago would have still been very conscious of seeming gay. Sadly as kids (and adults) can be cruel any hint of being off could start rumours, even if your straight as an arrow. It’s getting better but still not great. I am from the same area of BC and both myself and my daughter have gone through school here. She is only 2 years behind him in school so I’m familiar with the mindset from those days.
