    I started very small as a young Mom. I had 1 small cabinet and a box that I slowly filled with preps. The canned tuna and corned beef and mac and cheese etc in my cabinet. Jesus candles and flashlights in my box. 😊 Then built it up from there. And a battery operated radio. And filled empty milk jugs for water. Till I could afford better. Later my home was the gathering place or safe place for storms. I was able to take care of several families when they had to evacuate from the coast.

    Great video. One important aspect of prepping is rotating things in and out that are consumable (ie: food/water), susceptible to corrosion (ie: batteries), and susceptible to degradation over time (ie: glow sticks) to name a few.

    One thing I always had in my car while living in Northern California was a police scanner. Wild fires come out of nowhere and take out the cell towers. That is if you have service. It's really important to know where to go. Alot of people die in wild fires because they get stuck suddenly in it because they don't know where to go. Some people mite say they will see it coming, but wild fires are fast moving and unpredictable. Your best bet is a scanner and a good map of the area. The spotter planes and firedept channels give the most Intel. Police often report on there channels to each other and dispatch.

    While some folks don't believe in prepping, anyone that has something stored away, is a prepper of sorts. For others, you prep within your means and, of course, with some thought. No matter how, you can never be 100%, but it will make your life easier. Thank you all.

    • @visamedic
      @visamedic Před 10 měsíci +3

      I’ve had people ask me how do I prep when I live week to week. I’ve told them you simply start by buying a few extra cans OF WHAT YOU ALREADY EAT. What’s that…2 cans of meat, even now, an extra $1.50 (tuna) to $5-6 (roast beef). 10 cans of veggies…maybe $5-8 extra on your grocery bill. You do that for 2 months every week and you have probably a good weeks plus worth of food. Then you continue to do this, and because youre buying stuff you’d already eat, you buy what you use, and cycle it out, oldest to newest. Extra jug of spring water $1-1.50. One a day for each person in your family for a few days to a week. “Where do I put all this stuff”. Well you go down to a harbor freight or a Walmart and spend $20-30 on one of those cheapy ABS storage racks. Stick that in a closet somewhere, nice dark corner, and your good to go. All of that could cost between $100-150 over the course of a month or two. Cut back on the Starbucks and your good to go.

    • @visamedic
      @visamedic Před 10 měsíci +2

      I remember FEMA initially said to prep for 3 days. Then it was a week…now it’s a few weeks. If you live in an area prone to disaster you should be setting yourself up for at least two weeks to a month. Look back on the last few years and ask yourself how many times you either couldn’t go to a store, or got to a store and could get what you NEEDED. I’ve been a prepper for over 30 years. We were called survivalist, with distain I might add, back then…but I’ll tell you I WAS NOT in line the night before the lock down in Thunderdome trying to get toilet paper. I always kept a minimum of 72 rolls (not equivalent but 72 actual rolls). So there was probably 96 in my linen closet. Plus batteries, candles, flashlights, first aid kit, ect, ect… I just sat back and watched the s#!t show.

      @visamedic super. February of last year, in Northern Georgia, camping, we had freeze-dried food for the duration. 4 days, 3 meals a day for 4 people equaled 23 pounds. Pork chops, eggs, Jimmy deans, veggies, Mac and cheese, beef stew, fruit, coffee, and powdered drinks. We also drank from a stream source, filtered of course. All of it was delicious. I make my own. As you mentioned, one or 2 cans per paycheck adds up pretty fast. You won't regret it. And let's say the world decides to turn NICE, you have a stocked pantry. Happy prepping.

    Prep at whatever pace you can. Even if you can only afford one or two canned goods a week, that will still make an impact when SHTF. Start with the little things then move up to the larger items. But make sure you're comfortable with the amount of prepping you're doing. You probably don't need to have an entire bunker full of items but you also don't want to have nothing.

    Baking Breads 🍞🥐🥖 (or a 5 course meal 🥩 🍽 🥧) Is easily done with a Camp Dutch Oven! (Not a stovetop dutch oven!) Camp styles can be used on a open fire, or sitting on hot coals / charcoal with coals more on the lid. They come in a variety of sizes for different needs. But practice and some specific tools & skills are recommended. You can Bake, Fry, Roast, Broil, Simmer, Grill and Smoke with a Camp Dutch Oven.

I have over 7 years worth of hot sauce just because I will always use it and could trade some for something else. I am working on 9 months of food for basic things but have about a year worth of rice. I have some of the rice in 500 ml bottles which works out to a couple of cups of rice in each. SHTF has different definitions for different people. Do what feels right without going insane, if it causes undue stress back it off. Does 3 days, 3 months, or 3 years feel right? If you have the means to do it then do it. I cannot fathom why anyone could not do at least a 3 day. 3 years is going to be hard to do for most and may take years to get there. Just keep it sane. Thank you for dedication and heart and effort to helping as many as you can. Though Christ all things are possible, then I think of the parable of the bridesmaids. Declaring a “State of Emergency” gives emergency powers to a local municipality, county, state. They can then deploy local or state national guard units (which report to the local or finally the governor not the President) to enforce order, curfews and so on. NO ONE at the local or state level have the authority to declare martial law. Martial law is a federal emergency tool that gives the President emergency powers, suspends the constitution, suspends the powers of congress and the Supreme Court. Martial Law essentially gives the President “CEASER” Emperor powers. It can’t be taken away he must lay it down freely by law. So we NEVER want this to happen!

    Salt, salt, salt ! Nobody talks about salt, try to survive out of sea, whithout salt. And it's realy cool to conserve meat, fish.
    Also, the démon Can not pass a barrier of salt.

    I wish I could've been watching when this streamed, might've mentioned a few questions.
    One thing I can say for sure, folks are in no way really prepared for a major situation, like an EMP, HEMP or nuke attack. Those are long term and unless people get real on what they need to do, they will massively suffer, before someone takes what they have and they expire rather painfully. If you are sim ply preparing for an electric outage for a few days, fine, anyone can do that, with their eyes closed, but the real threats now, will be sudden, maybe within minutes, with no real warning, so there will be no doing anything at that point. And if you think a nice little solar generator and a few panels will do the job, well unless you have a faraday cage, kiss them goodbye.
    Announced today, iran may have 10 operational nukes in 4 months, NK has hyper, china is preparing to take Taiwan, which could result in WW3, russia has threatened almost to the point of no return. We are closer on the doomsday clock than ever in my lifetime.
    Folks had better really step it up on their preps, I fear the need will be very soon.
