      It's actually not that bad. The first few times it might be a little bit weird. But you can still eat. People make it far worse than it is. But being surrounded by poop, pee, wounds is really not that disgusting when you work with it.

      So true 😉 please remember the many others who are also human: nurses, assistants, porters etc. all have their part to play too.

      @@HeartOfLightning oh, DEFINITELY! i have nothing but respect and awe for all ppl in the med field. it just occurred to me that these peeps who cut other folks open and root around inside em (i know its more delicate than i made it sound. lol) also just....go grocery shopping. pump gas. play softball. watch true crime. get pap smears. send birthday cards. poop. . . .
      its just weird to think about.

      Thanks for your message - agreed again 🙂 all those daily things.
      I suppose I could have been a bit clearer that I was just generally reflecting about all the others involved. I've got friends on the admin side, who do unknown digital things that keep everyone going without them ever knowing any different (often with crazy hours during CV19 - some didn't get days off for many months).
      Yup, those people who poke around our insides buy sofas and gas and walk their dogs and do their make up like the rest of us (ok, I don't do my make up 😂 but we're agreed for sure lol)

      They also do csection deliveries and such. I was supposed to get a hysteroscopy done (I think that’s how you spell it??). There’s other procedures that I’m drawing a blank on

      They do hymenectomies, it's where your hymen (if it's still in tact) is surgically removed as opposed via sex.

    You are the most relaxed doctor I’ve ever seen. You’re so cool, confident, and calm. I love it. 🌻
    Thank you for these awesome videos. And talking about things that need to be discussed. I’m sending them to my mother who is due for a hysterectomy. Her doctor just performed a hysterectomy, and his patient (who is my moms childhood bestie) almost died during a hysterectomy. He did it the laser way, and punctured her intestines. Her intestines were left punctured for 10 hours after surgery. It wasn’t till her daughter who is an R.N. told the obygn that something was off about her mom. Her blood pressure was way off. The doctor did an MRI and back to surgery she had to go. She wound up in the ICU and is due for another surgery. This isn’t looking for my moms friend.

    I have a genuine question for you Ali. I just got released from surgery for a ruptured fallopian tube from an ectopic pregnancy. This is the 2nd non viable pregnancy this year alone and 2nd time I've almost bled to death. They removed the ruptured tube and embryo of course, but refused to remove my other tube. I have 2 healthy children already and in my mid 30s. I'm just lost for words why they would put me through ANOTHER surgery to remove the other tube that could have been removed while I was in surgery just Monday. What would you have done if I were your patient?

    • @samanthabrittain8680
      @samanthabrittain8680 Před 11 měsíci +1

      One huge con for me is it caused a lot of scar tissue so now with my current pregnancy I have placenta accreta which is very scary and I will have to have my uterus removed after my c section. You can still get placenta accreta even if you haven't had c sections but it's a bigger possibility if you've had em.

    • @Ayverie4
      @Ayverie4 Před 10 měsíci +1

      There's no benefit unless it's a medical emergency which is about 2% of cases who actually need them. This is major abdominal surgery after all. But they manage to convince 1/3 of women to get unnecessary surgery, usually by fear tactics. It's more convenient for doctors if they can schedule your L&D. Not to mention they make more $.
      Don't use an OB-GYN unless you are referred to one by your midwife for an emergent situation. They are surgeons and they handle labors with surgery in mind.
