    Brighton is not a comfortable city to live in… I know. I live there. It has high levels of homelessness, an uncontrollable drug problem and every other problem you can think of. The housing situation is extortionate and employment is scarce. Good luck trying to live there.

      Okay Barnstaple is not a city. It's an affordable place to live and an okay market town, however the job market lacks diversity with few well paid jobs about. It's a little boring, the night life being pretty poor however the surrounding area has a lot to offer.

    • @raindog77
      @raindog77 Před rokem

      @@deborahmotunrayo912 I'd say Nottingham is well up on the list as affordable for working class people, there's plenty of low paid jobs, and if there's two of you then you can get quite a nice property to rent which is affordable . Some places like Swindon, which is considered affordable are genuinely not really affordable any more. Not if you want to enjoy yourself a bit. But for similar jobs and similar rented property ,the towns mentioned, inc Nottingham, you'll have £2-3000 a year extra to spend on yourselves and hopefully enjoy life a bit, rather than struggling to pay bills. You can move away and start a new life up North and be happy, it's great if you choose the right place.

      @@elvisaddaiyeboah3721 Hi , first i would like to clarify , that i am saying that there is nothing wrong with any of the places mentioned in the video or with London either , its just that they are expensive places to live in and the title states clearly that its a video about places that are affordable (live comfortably in) . My suggestions of great cities that are less expensive but good to live in would be :-
      Norwich
      Nottingham
      Sheffield
      Newcastle
      Exeter
      Nowhere is perfect and all have better/worse/cheaper/expensive neighbourhoods and i could give you a much better list of towns to live in but the undoubted fact is the five places in the video really are not places you could live comfortably in unless you earned a very substantial wage .

      There's definitely an argument that Southampton should be on this list given the relatively low cost of accommodation for the South/South East. The job market is also good and it's the economic driver of the region. It's relatively close to London which is good but sadly not really close enough to commute. Nearby Winchester is however but accommodation there is incredibly expensive. It has good transport connections to the surrounding region but is held back by regional transport infrastructure not being well integrated and affordable. No where near as good as say Greater Manchester for example. It also has pretty good weather for a UK city and plenty of green space.
