The Bruins played great hockey for the first 10 minutes of every game. After that, it was all Florida. As a 50+ year fan of the Bruins, I gotta say the better team won this series. âïžđ
Three things win in the playoffs; An awesome Goalie, an awesome forecheck and an awesome physical presence. The Bruins had one of those covered every game in both series, Swayman. The Bruins hardly forechecked. The times they were physical they looked legit.
Disappointing end, but the Bruins should (hopefully) have an entertaining offseason. Boston should have about 21-23 million in cap space (depending on how much the cap increases by, and theyâll free up 5 million more by moving Ullmark. Swayman will eat up a chunk of that but theyâll have a good amount to pursue 2 or 3 high quality players that can hopefully add a scoring punch.
How we played in this series was a micro cosm of the season. Sometimes they just didnât bring the energy and poise needed. The 1-1 goal was indicative. Lapses of focus and awareness, unprovoked. Lindholm has never looked so shaky. Fredrick losing the puck unchallenged. Pasternak never found space and the puck at the same time. Oh well, see you in October.

Florida was so confident in our zone. No rush, deliberate passes, setting up one timers. They did what it took. This one's on the GM. Donny has to get more for the money. NO quality finishers on this roster.
We need a major overhaul in roster. Trade and build. We are not built for playoffs.
Jim did a great job. Looking at the team objectively, our top scorers for the season were Pastrnk, Marchand & Coyle. Marchand turns 36 soon and Coyle was a 1st round pick that another team gave up and Coyle showed he was not up for the task offensively. The bright spots are Brazeau, Beecher and Lohrei. There are probably more in Providence but because Jeremy Jacobs won't allow Sweeney to build the team heavily from Providence, Sweeney will pick up a couple of guys other teams don't want, Zacha was a perfect example of that, and Jacobs will lspin it saying, we are only a couple of offensive guys away. Maybe we get Mitch Miner, again, he would be a guy another team did not want vs letting the Providence kids like Beecher play and develop not having to worry about Championship expectations.
Shouldâve gone to 7. Ahh. Game 7s are exciting wouldâve liked to see that one.

@@patrickschannelpokemonswee3803 most people come off the couch when their team gets to the playoffs but donât fully know and understand the depths of everything else in that respective sport. this was a ârebuildâ year of sorts and they still out played everyoneâs expectations.

Depth at center is what created success for Boston and now we have none of it.. half the damn team needs to go. and idk about Mac. tired of his mistakes costing odd man rushes
McAvoy made a lot of mistakes, yesâŠbut the one thing that completely blow my mind is for such a stud Dman, he canât hold the pinch on the blue line at all. if I was playing against him, I would wrap it up the wall to his side of the line EVERY time and have somebody fly the zone. you will get a breakaway 9 out of every 10 tries.
What does that tell you that finishing on top doesn't mean nothing, maybe 3rd time is the charm.

If the Bruins had spent as much time trying to score as they did complaining, they would have won the series in four. In fact, they complained so much that they reminded me of the defunct Nordiques and their head coach and complainer, Michel Bergeron. It takes a lot, areal lot of whining to beat that old record.
The big difference with this Bruins team and the previous team ( the one with Bergy, Chara and Krejci) is that this one allows far too many shots on goal. This statistic was consistant in the regular season where the Bruins were outshot by big margins and carried on in the playoffs. This has to do with puck management and territorial defending. Since the loss of Bergy the Bruins dont have an adequate face-off man. Bergy was 65 % effective. This is an important aspect of the game because its about puck posession. At trade deadine the Bruins didnt make good changes to the roster. They needed to add 2 good forwards such as Guentzel and someone else. Like Montgomery stated apart from game one the attack was stale. Lets face it Pasta and company didnt do enough. What were all those too many men on the ice penalties ? Swayman was awesome.
Panthers played great too. He kept FL in every game. Hat off to both goodies.
Simple answer is that Florida was the better team. Offense was absent. PP was 1/15 - you can't win a playoff series with those numbers.

Wow, I definitely wouldn't say that. In some ways this regular season was even more surprising than last season.
And, ... granted Swayman carried them, ... but they did better in the playoffs than they probably even should have.

A series of trades has left Boston with just three picks in the 2024 draft. Limited draft selections like this 2024 haul have left the Bruins with one of the thinnest prospect pools in the NHL. Boston's prospect depth was recently ranked No. 30 in the league.
Boston will need to trade one of their goalies because they have shit for draft picks, if not, for the most part you're going to see the same team next year.
I believe it'll have to be Swayman because no one is going to give up high draft picks for a 31 year old goalie.

I think he lost the team dully game 2 of this round. He gave them the exvuse post game that " they were tired" and i bet they were coming off game 7 win and beating florida game 1 but you dont hive the team that excuse to put in their back pocket! Just sets a bad standard. I was a huge casdidy fan so i will never like monty so i very well might be biased against him! But willing to bet most Bs fans agree hes nice guy but not the guy to EVER get you over the hump. Sweeny wanted a push over he could control and made damn sure he got it in that coach.

Worst coach in the NHL. Always swearing and complaining. He lost the team with his temper.
Montgomery lost it for us again this year with his poor decisions. Got two great goalies, and you only utilize one for pretty much the entire playoffs. Swayman played like garbage and that's the reason we were down 3 - 1 in the series to begin with. And he almost lost it against Toronto and the only reason we won that series is because of a lucky play. Get rid of this coach, he's garbage. He's not a playoff coach at all. Have two great goalies and you're going to use one so much that you burn him out till he's playing like trash and then keep playing him until we lose the series. Great job
Swayman didnât play like garbage, the players in front of him did. for the most part, every team plays one goaltender throughout the playoffs. Bobrovsky has been in net since the playoffs started, heâs advancing. Ullmark is terrible in the playoffs. Ullmarks playoff record is 3-6 in 3 seasons. Swayman this year was 6-6. canât win them all, but Sway has the better record.
