so i have had the n2, n2 pro and the n4. i'm considering getting the n4 pro or a different model. here's what ive found about the n4 pro vs the n4. dimensions n4: 4.1 x 1.57 x 5 inches. n4 pro 5.63 x 6.89 x 3.82 inches chips n4: starvis 1 n4 pro: starvis imx 678 cables both have a 20ft rear camera cable, 11.3/11.5 ft usb type c charger cable, and a 3.3 foot "data" cable. wifi n4: n/a n4 pro: 5ghz gps n4: optional mount n4 pro: built in micro sd card n4: 256gb max n4 pro: 512 gb max voice control n4: n/a n4 pro: available
I just got the n4 pro, had it installed with the hard wire kit, when the car is parked and turned off, parking mode with motion detection and the camera powers off completely after about 5 or 6 hours. any ideas why? the video is set to 5 minute loop and using a vantrue memory card
Thank you for posting this. I’m gonna pull the trigger on a new dash cam within the next day or two for a new vehicle. I’ve got 3 already in my other cars. They are all 1080p but good enough. They were all top of the line at the time. Two Lucas black boxes and one black view. I don’t need a third camera for inside, but this one looks very good. Are you happy with it? Is it 30 frames per second? I really wanted 60 but 30 should be fine. Thanks. And thanks for posting this.
I really don't need it to be 60 fps, it's not an action camera. :) As long as it gets the license plates and is clear enough at night, which it is. It's fine by me.
can you connect this dash camera to a wifi hotspot to allow the camera to send notification while on parking mode (once I connect the camera to power ONB all the time) also can you talk back, im kinda trying to find something better than the RING dash cam
@@cm1133 I prefer a clean video clip that I can edit myself. date/time stamps aren't always correct and can even work against you when it matters Vantrue sent me an N5 months ago and it's been great
Vantrue N4 Pro Cables are too short by 10 to 12 inches. The rear camera really could use another 18 inches for larger vehicles. The N4 Pro is very bulky in size. Do not want or need to use the Interior camera. I like the universal ball joint as being able to swivel the camera angle. Like the innovative magnetic connection for easy removal. It is just like the regular N4 regarding Heat and Cold. The 3.19-inch IPS screen is nice but don't like the buttons as should be a touch screen but the screen really is no longer a required item. Also, it has to be mounted just below the review mirror which causes a lot of problems with new vehicles having cameras and sensors behind the rearview mirror as impairs road vision. Be careful to ensure connector/plug room for the power cable and cable to the rear camera. In certain ways, mounting the old N4 was better. N4 Pro now competes with Viofo A139 Pro since it has Starvis MX678 with HDR capability and both perform well. However, the Viofo A139 Pro is better than N4 Pro. There is no longer any need for screens on dashcams as we use our smartphones. A139 Pro has thinner cables which make routing the cable easier. Vantrue N4 Pro dashcam gets a grade of B. Viofo A139 Pro gets a grade of B plus.

can you update software of this dashcam through app Wifi over the air?
video quality is kinda bloomy specially at night and bit at day time even though its 4K with Sony Starvis 2.0
Use the 40mm circular polarizer to cut down on that kind of glare.

Did you glue your cable to hide it in the corners?
I have the N4 normal, it's impossible to read the plates at night. It seems it's still an issue with the N4 Pro.

When the car turns off it doesn't turn on my motion detection or by tapping the screen? Why is this
you would have to hard wire it into your battery for that to happen. Does not have a built in battery.

N4 Pro is the upgraded version of N4
The main difference is the Starvis 2 vs the original Starvis sensor. Much bigger pixels for better nighttime quality.
