Repairing Another PC-324 Lighting System

- I ascend a 340' guyed tower and replace some parts inside a Flash Technologies PC-324 Xenon Lighting System. The climb was a textbook easy climb as well as the repair. After the first turn-on prior to the repair, I noticed something was not right in the way it was flashing and under further examination I found a wire in the white side of the light that leads to the red side to be corroded and not making a good connection; something I overlooked when I replaced the white tube. I forgot to turn the camera back on but what I did to fix it was just strip the wire back and add a new terminal, after that repair, the system worked flawlessly. And for all you naysayers from the last video, you will be pleased to know I brought all the tools I knew I would need.

The cows seemed to be interested in what was going on, they all gathered around the tower enclosure. 🙄😁
Well done and be safe up there.👍
May you acquire a pair of angel wings. Take your time. Heart rate going up also. ❤
Keep it up, I enjoy the vids from the UK
I have changed out a few of the flash technologies lights, one of the last ones I did the hinge broke I almost lost the red lens... Almost a cluster. I typically find that all the connections on those are super corroded. If I can give you a piece of advice, always mark the wires before you take them loose as they are always so faded its hard to tell the colors after the fact.
@@dctw4678 yeah I avoid opening the white side all together, if something is messed up on the white side I just fix it from the top. It’s not worth risking losing the whole flash head
Why can’t the engineers design a pulley system that can be used as a 1 man elevator? Have a separate drive motor that can be towed to each location as needed. Yours are defiantly bigger than mine!
@@jimjamess8633 the really tall towers do have an elevator system similar to that but I’m guessing money is a big factor as to why all towers don’t have them lol.
Money for sure a big one. That's a lot of added complexity and maintenance, just simply doesn't make sense to do on thousands of towers for minimal benefit when you can pay a guy to climb, just think about it.
You earned every penny man $$$$$$$$$$$$$.🎉
👍
Do they pay you guys by the hour or job?
@@RustyWells2 it depends on the company, some are hourly, some salary, and some are by the job. A few companies even do by the day
You ever drop anything?
