  • Seth just got a plaque with documenting his songs getting streamed over 3.9 BILLION times! He's had to learn a lot over the years to get to this point, but by far, the #1 skill that has mattered is CO-WRITING. He explains why in the video!

Ok... we asked you to guess... what skill above ALL OTHERS do you think lead to this?

💯 great stuff Seth! Co-writing and collaboration is the name of the game. I moved to Nashville a year ago and I’m learning the reality of this and starting to embrace it, book more writes and just jump in. Funny thing is, I always thought I wrote my best songs by myself… but I definitely no longer feel that way. Having a co-writer is invaluable! They provide instant feedback to see if your ideas are hitting, they help you see your blind spots and of course provide plenty of ideas and inspiration on their end as well… and you’re right, it’s just more fun! It’s a classic example of iron sharpens iron 💪🏼

You said it perfectly. I rarely have an idea that doesn’t go thru a few layers of scrutiny and I think that’s a great think. It’s same with stand up comics - ie - the audience is the co writer. We have one idea in our heads of how a song will land but others may hear it entirely different and so it’s important to be open to outside feedback - namely, trusted co writers. Thanks for watching! Seth

Solo writes are good sometimes, but man co-writing really is the best.

If I'm starting from zero, its really hard to have someone to co write...how do you do that when you're not famous?
