Dear Steff, Mrs Horatio's solution to a birthday cake-atastrophe event occurring is to bake two at a time, with the final touches done at the last minute. With five grandchildren that's a lot of cake, not to mention all the cupcakes for the party bags! Just don't mention our electricity bill. Cake-tastrophe - love it! And well done Mrs Horatio! I stupidly had 2 children on the same day (2 years apart). It wasn't planned, the second one was a month early. This means I always have to make 2 cakes. This often turns into 3 as I usually forget a key ingredient...flour for example. In the case of this year, should have been 4. Next year I'll make 8. I'll just keep going... And yes, the weather up north is pretty pants up north today. Probably better under the patio to be fair...
