Punk rock before it was called that...

Punk rock when it was actually good. When it was actually rock, and not a bunch of whiney brats acting like they invented it. Never forget the roots. All started back with the likes of Louis Jordan. Rest in peace to them all.

Not quite. Punk wanted to get back to the spirit of basic rock, which is blues-based, but the musicianship was usually not up to par.

Just think , only 15 years early the Nazis would have shot someone British 🇬🇧 in Hamburg , now (1960) there rocking out to your music. Strange times indeed !

Ringo is the drummer here. He joined the Beatles in August 1962, about 4 months before these tapes were made. This is the last of their 5 Hamburg gigs. At Brian's insistence they grudgingly honored a contract signed before they released Love Me Do to play the Star Club from December 18-31, 1962. Again, Ringo is the drummer here and he's phenomenal. Pete sounded nothing like this.

Ringo. Pete had left four months previous.
