I am glad she is still doing it... in my opinion, between 1968-1976 she was the queen of the hill, up there with kings like Hendrix, Dylan, Beatles... the very best.

How much time are they giving to Joni to perform? If there’s a time limit, I don’t think I can select a couple of songs. There are SO many songs from her multi decade career that I would love to see her perform!
I guess I’ll have to go see her in concert in LA.
That said, I would really love to see her play:

I have most of Joni albums until Mingus and then the spell was broken. Melanie wrote most of her songs so you are wrong about that. Melanie had something I preferred to Joni's and that was her music and lyrics "And she sang till she died"

I spent a heartbreaking evening with Ms Mitchell, back in the 90s. She chainsmoked unfiltered camel cigs, the whole time. I remember thinking that this would not end well. The stroke was no surprise.

..one would have to listen to her for eternity, along with John Tesh, Yanni, and Jon Secada.
She could never touch the talent of Melanie Safka who sadly has now died.
Love Melanie, but in no way did she have the talent of Joni. Melanie was a singer first and sometimes songwriter. Mitchell wrote, orchestrated, produced, did her own album covers, and played on all of em. Ushering in new music ahead of its time and more personal than anyone had ever heard before. Joni is a guitar playing virtuoso that had Clapton questioning his skill after watching her play for the first time (her use of multiple tunings is well beyond the norm). Has had many musicians copy and do versions of her songs. Also known as great a songwriter as Dylan, while some like David Crosby say her genius and songwriting and performing is superior to Dylan's. Her vocals have a bigger range and Melanie's too. As far as talent Joni the top of the chain. however can understand if ya prefer Melanie's music style and/or voice, that is taste and preference. Overall talent though is Mitchell by a mile. Cheers
