      Earl Weaver was even worse in the minors, one umpire remembered that he took first base with him and locked himself in a room. Since it was the minors, they didn't have any extra bases, so the groundskeeper had to knock on the door and beg for the base back so they could finidh the game. xD

      @@jeffking5505 Uh, no, it wasn't on TV. They take a lot of footage that they don't air. You know how there's all those cameras to get all those different angles.....yeah. And the umpire was wearing a mic for a documentary about umpires, so the broadcast feed wouldn't have been picking that up anyway.

    The Don Zimmer ejection should go into the history books as the greatest. I love how announcers used to not talk incessantly, they are just silent as the thing plays out. Amazing.

    This was a beautiful thing! It's official, for us anyway, Bill Haller is the G.O.A.T of MLB umpires.
    How could anyone not LOVE the way Haller 'tossed' 👍 Weaver from the game >>> "Ah,... BOOM!!!!" He literally dropped the BOOM on the the l'il guy. From our standpoint, it couldn't of happened to a nicer guy than Weaver. In fact, this action alone warranted Haller's IMMEDIATE entry into the baseball Hall Of Fame.

    I never understood why baseball is (for the most part) one of the calmest sports out there, but it is accepted that a coach/player and an official can get into a spit throwing yelling match with each other.

    I loved that Earl Weaver ejection, that was all over a bogus balk call from an argument the night prior. I was at both of those games. If you look at the time and scoreboard it was top of 1st inning. Weaver didn't even come out to pregame he sent out Ray Miller that night. That had to be one of the best for Weaver.... I loved watching that man work!!

    One of my favorites will be from quite a few years ago. I believe it was in Toronto, manager came out and got face to face with CB Buckner, neither guy was standing down, play by play guy said “All I can say about this is I hope both have great breath mints”

    My personal favorite was an AJ Pierszinski ejection. After a foul off out of play, he told the umpire, "Give me a ball. One you can see."
    Edit: For everyone harping on the George Brett Pine Tar incident. Technically, he was not ejected. He was called out, which ended the game.

      At the time, yes. However, the league ejected him after the fact, so when they overturned the call and they had to resume the game later in the year, someone else was playing 3B for the Royals (one of the few times a player is ejected after hitting a HR)
