I had to change my pants when i first shuffled them as well
I’m considering getting a pack of these because dragon shield dual mattes have had huge quality control issues. The ds seem to split easy if they’re not made in Denmark
Hmmm guess I'm not the only one with this issue. So far Katana s have done me well so its a great alternative :)
dragon shield are made in denmark
Katana's have been my go to sleeves since Hypermat's quality became an issue, since 2017. Great wear and longevity! 👍🏼
I had DS for a long time, but when I started FaB, I gave the Katana a try. Good god they are nice. DS sealable inner sleeves, but the Katana outers are where it's at for me now.
That's my loadout :D
Nice to see trying a new video format. Hope it gets some good views/interaction if you enjoy doing it.
Thanks! I'm not sure how much product I'll be reviewing, but when I get a new toy or something I figure I might as well make a video about it haha
I prefer the feel of the Katana, the look of the Matte Dual, but the sizing of the KMC Hyper I prefer most. They do not have excess at the top of the card.
katana sleeves don't have much excess at the top either. at least less space than dragon shields.
I have a commander deck sleeved in Katana sleeves… and although they look very nice, the sleeves are almost “sticky”. They are hard to shuffle, and if you press down on the deck, you can actually pick you the entire deck by just gripping the top 1/3 of the deck (the bottom 2/3 will hang on for a while before falling). Not sure if it’s static, or some kinda residue on the plastic itself…. I did buy these about 3-4 years ago, so maybe they don’t do that anymore….
Yeah could be a quality change. Or just age, especially if they have been used alot. I tend to change sleeves at least once a year, two years if Im real lazy about it
They we’re “sticky” from the very beginning. I almost exclusively use UP sleeves… they age much better than the Dragonshiled (no wavy edge)
@Kenoba oh boy well I'll have to keep an eye out for anything over the months I play with them. I'd like to review tons of sleeves though because I know there are quite a few
I did buy my Katana sleeves when they first were released… so maybe they have fixed the issue, or I had a bad beginner batch
@@rculver101 Well you could always buy some new ones and test it out :D
Katana are really good, the only reason i use DS is the color… DS ivory is my favorite color i wish katana had those.
I hear Ivory is a fav amongst everyone so I understand. I still like DS as much as I do Katana
There's a tab at the bottom of the katana box for easy open. Don't open on the top.
Thanks! Yeah that was pointed out to me so now I know for next time xD
katana is the best blank sleaves in my opinion.
@nicholefish4758 they definitely ahuffle well and are durable, I just feel like double sleeving doesn't leave alot of room and that may cause an IP error in an official event
I liked and loved the review video, more channels should do reviews. My only suggestion: Is that you should of recorded this opening like you did- and waited a few weeks "Playing with them" and then with the sleeves review- added to the review, your opinion of them a few weeks later- give some depth.
Yeah, I definitely plan to make a "30 days in" video with them. Hopefully, that gives some depth into the wear and tear of them.
Lol I just bought these same sleeves yesterday. I like the new style of video!
Thanks Tek!
I appreciate the review. When it comes to sleeves, I buy whatever I can find on sale. I can't ever tell the difference between different brands. I use KMC and Dragon Shield for fitted though.
Nothing wrong with using whats on sale. At least you have great inner sleeves :)
You need to do more of this more ppl need to branch out and find new sleeves and boxes. I personally recommend prismatic guard they do foil and non-foil sleeves some with different types of foiling.if you do try them I recommend the starfoil inner sleeves
I'll gladly give them a look :D
Also used Katana sleeves a few years ago. What no one talks about is that the two packs are cut minimally different. One pack is slightly larger and the other smaller. Ergo the two packs within the whole pack are not compatible for decks over 50 cards or was that changed???
I'm honestly not too sure if that is the case. I'll have to get back to you when I buy more xD From what I know, most companies actually add more than the standard 100 to a package to give "replacement" sleeves in case you need an extra one or so. Therefore I'd imagine in most cases one has about 50 and the other may have 55 or something of that nature.
@@AshenWingzTCG I don't mean the number of sleeves but that there are 2 packs of 50 sleeves in one package. One pack is 66mm high and the other 67mm high. So you can not combine both packs. Sorry if you meant the same.
@FrankeyKrankey2 Huh, never noticed. I'll do some measurements and see if its still accurate lol
What inners do you use? I'm assuming if you use katana inners with katana sleeves, it'd be better.
I am actually using Dragon Shield inners. They work just fine. Haven't been able to find Katana inners at LGS that I go to so I havent tried those yet
One thing is that dragon shield inner sleeves have always been way better than the competition for me, including kmc, however I haven’t tried Ultimate Guard inners. Does anyone have experience with them? It’s possible they fit better with their own sleeves
I personally haven't and I'm not sure if they have inners? I haven't really looked
So ultimate guard inner sleeves are alright but they should be used with their own sleeves I just don't know if itll work the same with their katana sleeves
I heard Katanas get pretty grimy quick? What was your experience with them since?
I've been using them for nearly 6 months+ now and I think they still feel very good to handle. Might make an update video on this soon. There are some other products I want to review as well
Definitely interested in an update. The way people talk about 'em it's like they'll be dirty after a day of locals lol But if they'll survive through plenty, they seem perfect.@@AshenWingzTCG
What perfect fit sleeves are you using?
Dragon shield
Great review video
Thanks! I'm hoping to get my hands on some more products to review for everyone :)
@@AshenWingzTCG as someone new to FAB I'm here for all the content I can find!
@@LaughingHamster99 Happy to be of service :)
Sleeve me up Alex! 🤘🦁🤘
Matt from "Pure MTG" did a few compare vids on sleeves... Matted sleeves shuffle easyer than the shiny ones.. 🤓
@@savannahlion3081 They sure do. I have always liked the matte sleeves so this is just another great option!
Great info
Thanks!
Can you name me please the best option of transparent Double Sleeves for 66 x 91 Sleeves? I need thoss Sleeves, bedore you put the card into the Katana sleeves.
Thanks a lot
Dragon Shield Clear Sideloading sleeves are what I use
@@AshenWingzTCG do you got me a Link for 1000+ inner sleeves for 66x91 Sleebes sir?
Team katana now days...try different inner sleeves
Do you have recommendations? I hear the KMC arent half bad
I personally use Dragonshield Sealable Inners with Katana transparent on the outside.
Dragon shield quality is down quite a bit these days. Katana all the way!
I'll have to start looking into Ultimate Guard sleeves more now. I do love their binders so maybe its a good one stop shop kind of deal
Stop buying the stuff, the dual mattes are trash and the original sleeves are worse, only buy the matte sleeves
I swear everyone opens katana from the top like they are mentally disabled. The tab to open them is on the bottom!
