  • Welcome to the second installment of the Stacked Envelope Junk Journal Tutorial. If you watched the first part, you know I'm brand new to junk journaling and mix media. I started this channel so that my Facebook followers at Heart & Soulful can join me on my journey. I'm wanted to share what I'm learning about products and tools and share ideas. I hope you enjoy this video and if you do give it a thumbs up and let me know what you think in the comments. If you'd like to see future videos please hit the subscribe button and share with your like minded friends.

    In the video I was trying to remember the name of the website where I've ordered some of my papers and punches. It is Scrapbook.com and here's the link: www.scrapbook.com
    I had a question about the punch I used for the tags. Here's a link: www.michaels.c...
    P.S. In the video the material I used for the "window" was different and a little thicker than the plastic bag I had used in the ones I had already made. I think the thicker material was like the piece I showed that had embellishments stuck to it. When I went to cut it, I realized my sticker frame didn't stick at all...I should have thought of that. If that thicker material is used for removable sticker embellishments it wasn't going to be permanent for my purposes either. The recycled outer packaging works perfectly. I'll just use those other thicker pieces for something else. Live and learn!

    New subsie here. I just stumbled onto your channel. I don't even know how but I'm glad I did. I like your style. Fyi: to avoid your window pocket or any pocket for that matter, add an accordian strip on both sides of your pocket. This adds extra space in your pocket so you don'thave to struggle putting in or pulling out your tag.. Just thought I'd share that with you. Love what I see so far. Tfs GOD Bless and stay safe. P. S. You can use the inexpensive placemats from Dollar store when you distress your papers, stain your trims, glue things, paint something, etc and clean it with a wet wipe. If it after a long time it gets too ugly, turn it around and use the reverse side. Then throw it away when you need a new one.

    • @heartandsoulfuldesign
      @heartandsoulfuldesign  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi and welcome! Thanks for the tips. This was an early video and since then I have added some with accordion sides but nice idea to do them all that way. I always forget about the dollar store. I really like my craft mats. I have bought more and even just splurged on a Tim Holtz glass craft mat because I thought I might like the grid. I've only had it a couple of days but so far so good. ❤️

    I love the idea of making piles of tags and such and so you can just reach into your stash when you need it. My problem is that I'm all over the map as far as style...I'm all "squirrel!" when it comes to industrial look, shabby chic, etc., so I'd have to make so many different styles. I should just pick a lane and stick with it for a while. :)

    I don’t know if you know this or not keep your baby wipes there are videos where people use them in there journals. I think Susan Taylor brown is one of them, I think that’s her name. I have a terrible memory

      LOL. That's hysterical! I started originally learning mix media techniques and loved all the colors so I hung onto the dried baby wipes which looked like tie dye to me. I also save my paper towels when I use them as masks when spraying dyes. Someday they'll end up in something creative.

      Thanks...I'm trying...I'm new and pretty slow at creating and a little shy to craft on camera but I'm getting more comfortable and hope to continue discovering new things and sharing.
