R.I.P., Mr. Hirotaka Izumi. The Square and Casiopea started this live with your song. You and you music will be remembered forever...
Wow... what the hell, man... What a legend he was...
The two best fusion jazz bands, together? This is hot fire.
"Famous fusion band of Japan?" If asked, I would like always these two bands.
They're playing together. Very, very exciting!!
This is a performance of 2003. But, I do not feel at all old.
黒住
hot fire you say
Yes!! and have you heard the newer group Trix, formed by members of Casiopea and T Square ? try "Evolution" on blu-ray or CD
You mean hot lava
What i like the most is how balanced their instruments together not overpowering each other, each instruments can be heard individually
Agreed!
Balance and harmony is one of Japan philosofies
An ingenuity that's characteristic of the Japanese sound-making.
I wish every band has this philosophy.
Super good mixing and volume control
I cannot underestimate how much the keyboard solo at 1:19:54 has been underspoken here.
Pure insanity of a performance and one of the best soloes by Mr Mukaiya.
i love how he brake a note in the middle and just slap it away , the guy is a mad scientist.
This is quite possibly the best live jazz performance… ever. It’s just 2 straight hours of my jaw being on the floor from the sheer talent these musicians carry on their shoulders with a smile and a nod.
2:36:57 You know it's time to go all out when Master Hirotaka Izumi unties his hair and does the headband windmill! He is so into it, love it! Lol
As many times I have heard his music after I have discovered T-Square, I did not realize he had passed away until recently. Come to think of it, he was gone when I had just found him. I'm tearing up now... 😪 All I can say is you will be missed, but will forever live on from keys of your music. I can only aspire to be just like you on the piano, as you are forever a legend. ❤
R.I.P. Mr. Hirotaka Izumi
48:04 ♥️
damn i didn't know he passed away RIP
Rest in peace, Hirotaka Izumi. He wasn't just an amazing pianist, he enjoyed it as well: 2:37:03. If there is anyone who I would aspire to become, it's this man. Playing the things he plays, with his eyes closed, it's like the music was his second language. I play the piano myself, if I ever become half as good as he was I will be proud of myself.
Me too, man. Well said.
It's so sad he passed. I liked him so much..
If you think about it he wasn't even only a piano player, but also an attorney. He studied law

2003 concert but nowadays (2020) I still viewing it many times!
Same...
Me too
Everyday
When people think of japanese music, they think of traditional music or J-Pop idols. When I do, I think about THIS.

this concert should be a world heritage site
i love how they’re having such a good time, i wish i could see this concert in person
This is like a demo tape of Heaven
02:37:19 I lived to see a pianist shaking his hair. And the most incridible: this is a japanese pianist.
Damn this live is 20 years old and never gets old
2:09:41 This should be the fantasiest, coolest, Amazingest fucking wonderful break ever outplayed on a stage. 2 Master drummers having fun with perfect timing and a big smile on their faces doing these 20 seconds of magic directly to my soul. Very very thanks!. note: I dont know English, I just learned a little to write this comment.
OMG! THE AUDIENCE IS ACTUALLY CLAPPING ON 2 & 4!!! YOU DID IT JAPAN!!!
what part?
@@js100serch In the first wideshot of Omens of Love
2:49
finally an on beat clapping from the audience
i think people tend to clap with a defining snare drum hit. But still cool nonetheless.
0:48 "And you could win a brand new car!"

I actually snorted at that. Good one!
3 years late, but I just wanted to say that your sonic rom hacks are dope
The musicianship, precision and dedication needed for two whole bands of this caliber to mesh so seamlessly onstage. No wonder this does not happen often.

Jazz & Fusion, can't get any better music mix than that!!!
+metalcraze Jazz was fused with Rock, in the early days was called Jazz-Rock, later became Fusion, or more specifically Jazz Fusion.
I like Metal myself (the melodic type), which progressed to progressive metal and now Jazz Fusion. It seems there is a correlation between Prog and Jazz Fusion. I started off with mostly Rock at a young age. Musical taste should change with age and it does give an idea of what frame of mind you are in and can even influence your frame of mind.
Space rock is close though (Ozric Tentacles etc).
@@computerman789 Prog and jazz fusion are essentially sister genres. A lot of the prog greats started their careers in fusion and nowadays it goes both ways.
The piano solo at 26:00 is just amazing. Much respect.
Yeah, its greatness. Almost as good as my favourite, also of him. 03.47 on this link:

It amazes me how the drums are so in sync with each other, i dont hear any single overlapping snare hit..
One of the drummers quit about a year ago, but for the longest time, and many records, the band KGATLW also had 2 drummers. If you are into psychadellic rock and metal check them out.
These fucking guys played for 2 hours fucking 44 minutes with full professionalism and insurmountable energy straight! Along with the fucking greatest jazz fusion music on earth, that alone is fucking awesome on its own!
Fork
the best thing about jazz fusion is if they can fuse jazz with blues, funk, etc. they can also fuse different bands
I came to this because of Fightman. Then I realized I love this whole concert. Omens of Love at the beginning got me hooked.
Exactly the same here.
R.I.P., Master Hirotaka Izumi. Thank you for all your great music. You expanded my vision and opened the door of J-Fusion for me. Your music will be always remebered.
18:01 I love this playing. perfect and nice! RIP Hirotaka izumi
I just knew about the departure of Izumi-san and i'm very sad...i discovered T square some months ago but in this fantastic concert i appreciated the absolute skill and class of Izumi-san and his joy while jumping on a Casiopea song. For me this means respect and frendship...RIP
Wow… It’s like the bass guitars are speaking to each other having a passionate conversation in the song Eccentric Games.
I never realised until I started to play bass recently.
It's been 16 years since this live. And it still kicks ass.
Edit: 21 now. It's still amazing
2:13:53 It is insane how well these two bassists can match style and rhythm on such a technical passage
Humans react faster to sound that most stimuli, it explain a lot about how musicians can adapt and sync to a tempo.
And it absolutely remove nothing on how techical this is, and it's pretty cool, the drummers do the same at some point.
@ganjaman59650 the drummers are doing it while the bassists are, and for the entire hour before and throughout
The solo at 13:30 made me weep its the hardest I have ever seen anything rock, thank you for incredible music.
Akira Jimbo is an absolute BEAST on those drums!
I'm only just discovering this ABSOLUTE GEM of a performance.... initially came here for Casiopea as I still know very little about T-Square.... rest assured this concert is saved in my playlist called "excelent repertoire"
The drum kicks
The bass slaps
The guitars shred
The keys ring
The wind blows
My heart stops
Somebody, call an ambulance.
Google recommendation is giving me incredible stuff to listen to lately. I'm so glad I discovered these amazing Japanese bands, they really stepped Fusion up a notch.
Oh God, so wonderful...

A Privilege to have found this.
John Weir Totally agree
I dont understand where the tears came from but they wont stop!
All time legend

Superb! And funny at 30:03 when Itoh is supposed to start playing, and everyone in the band starts to look at him when he isn't. Keyzo reacting with humour, looking at Mitsuru. :)
