Hate to break it to you chief, but you're in the minority and AH, Target and Disney stocks prove it. Not to mention all of the liberal celebrities who have also denounced the Left's woke agenda. But, you believe what you want.

It looks like a big drone because that is exactly what it is. This whole idea is a pipe dream. Nothing is infallible and unlike helicopters or airplanes that can glide if the engines fail, this Volocopter thing has electric motors and can't autorotate like a helicopter. This will be "the future" until they start falling out of the sky.

You seriously think humans are incapable of coming up with safety failsafe systems? We strap human beings to bottle rockets and shoot them into space... people thought the same way you did when the first rocket was ever built... and look where we are today.

They said if you were to go over 60 miles per hour they thought you might enter into a time warp or sorts traveling at one mile per minute, something a horse wasn't able to do but human made machines called horseless carriages could potentially achieve.
They said flying contraptions would never be realistic in the early 1900's, as they were too dangerous and weather stopped them from flying.
They said flying faster than the speed of sound would not be possible and was too dangerous, because the controls reversed for some reason and the aircraft tended to break up.
They said people shouldn't worry about going into space on rocket ships, because it's too dangerous too expensive, and there wasn't any benefit.
These new flight systems have triple redundant controls. They can fly without any issue if a couple engines fail. The autopilot control system flys better than a human can and can handle the engine failure possibility in less than 1/4 of one second.
If an engine fails on a helicopter, all you have is the hope that you 'might' be able to autorotate if you have the altitude to do it and are proficient in the procedure, of which many pilots aren't, and the statistics of this maneuver being performed perfectly every time are less than the redundancy failure potential on this new craft by more than 100 times.
Multiple companies are working on a number of variants of these new vehicles. They will, without question, be flying in the skies in the next few years. Some will create amazing opportunities for themselves using them. Some won't.
