    WOW! Fantastic fabric. For cocktail elegance the red Vneck dress, and for formal elegance and pazazz, the crop top and skirt would be outstanding. Whatever you make will be a knock-out. Happy sewing everyone.

    Love Brad's sense of humour! I like the little red McCalls or the Vogue slim sheath. That would let the fabric do the talkin'. And you have the figure to make it happen!💕

    As for the dress choices, the fabric speaks for itself so I don’t think frills will be necessary. Either the wiggle dress or the Audrey Hepburn style would be perfect.
    Can’t wait to see the whole outfit when it’s made whichever you choose.

    Enjoyed your video. Your pattern choices for the wedding are wonderful. Since the wedding is in Italy in July, make a sleeveless dress or top. Italy can be really hot at that time of year. Take or make a shawl if the weather is cooler.

    6723 new look. Audrey Hepburn style. There’s a dress in “your” fabric right next to it. You’ll be holding your own with the Italian mammas in that, and it’s cocktail style. The town is pronounced “OTT rant oh” by the way. Greetings from Italy.

  • @debcobb9739
    @debcobb9739 Před 4 lety

    My vote is for the classic New Look 6723. The fabric reminds me of the throw back fabric of the late 60's early 70's style. A Jackie O/ A. Hepburn style would be awesome. The large flowers need to be made into a classic dress. I love the Kwik Sew sheath dress that Brad picked. It looks like the pattern similar to my first sheath dress I made in the 60's. It was so very easy and wore like a dream. I sincerely hope the flu epidemic is over before your trip. Looking forward to see what you decide to make. My husband walked by while I am watching your vlog and wants to know why I am grinning...you and Brad made me giggle. Thanks ...Many blessings

    I love the first skirt you showed from McCalls. Think that would be beautiful! I had to crack up when you said there were 2 of those when you were talking about the tulle on the shoes. Viv, hey, its all good. Chocolate has its own food group and good, has milk. Long fingernails only get in the way when you play the piano and sew! The fashion fairy could care less how many garments you finish for any single month! You are adorable and all your garments are fabulous on you. Awwh gee, think deep down you deliberately made Candice that adorable black jacket. YES, definitely go to Italy and furthermore have fun, eat chocolate, drink wine, buy their shoes and have fun! They have fabric in Italy. I have that green shantung and love it. I like the Vogue 1991 sheath sleeveless, dress or new look sleeveless and with your figure-WOW. The fabric is huge and busy, so simple simple dress will show it off beautifully. Spots will come out of the tensel.

  • @deltaflute03
    @deltaflute03 Před 4 lety +5

    I’m sure someone mentioned it below but in Italy they have a stricter dress code than in the US. I’m a church nothing sleeveless or above the knee. You may want to ask about that. You can still sew sleeveless and wear something like a bolero over it.

  • @nanastevens4094
    @nanastevens4094 Před 4 lety

    My favorite for the shantung would be the skirt because the fabric has enough body to it to keep its shape. When you said dancing under the stars it cinched it for me, it would swirl beautifully around your legs.

  • @jorjaprice2190
    @jorjaprice2190 Před 4 lety

    My vote is the vogue, the one in the middle or the other sleeveless. A bold print would look fabulous without too many broken lines or darts. The vintage pattern fabric would make an adorable tote bag. Or, maybe simple curtain panels & lumbar pillow cover for a sewing room chair. I am interested to see what you do. I am thinking along the line of craft projects. I am sure whatever you do with it will be precious.
    I love that sheath dress pattern! To me, a sheath dress looks sophisticated without trying hard ala Audrey Hepburn style. I just wish I had slim hips. Those dresses flatter the straight slim body type.

    Definitely the New Look 6723- the sleeveless version. It was made for your gorgeous fabric! The drawing even looks like your fabric. It’s a SIGN! Seriously, a July Wedding in Southern Italy will be so hot so that dress is perfect. The fabric is stiff so will stick out a bit anyway but a big whooshy 50s underskirt would be fab. Maybe in red tulle👍

    I would have a tough time deciding between the little red wiggle sheath or the natural waist full skirt. Each so different yet each so fabric appropriate. Personally, I would make each selection in similarly weighted fabrics as a test run for fit and comfort before cutting into that dreamy shantung. Better safe than sorry! I look forward to ALL of your videos. You bring me joy. We too are college “B” Ball fanatics. I try to stockpile hand sewing and seam ripping for game time.🏀✂️

    I think the Calvin Klein or the wiggle dress , would look fabulous. Italy is rather hot in the summer , but oh it’s glorious, I hope you get time to visit Florence my favorite city in the world! 💕 Karen R
