While EXO is a well know group I feel that certain members are underrated and that their indivudual skills aren't really noticed. I think that Chen is one of the best vocalists in Kpop.

A lot of people consider themselves fan of a group but they only know about their bias and one or two more members and k-pop groups do always have more than 4 or 5 members so what happens is that 2 or 3 members represent a group but nobody else knows about the rest

the best thing about this is that exo had just debuted and were still considered rookies, and not many people knew the group members individually yet which was why they were surprised to see Chen on the stage,, since they’re not familiar with the members yet. Now, 6 years later Chen’s voice is recognised not only in Korea but is known worldwide for his legendary vocals :”D
This was in 2015, no? If so EXO weren't really considered rookies by that point. I think they were actually ranked in top 3 influential celebrities in Korea that year and released their third million+ selling album lol. Chen is known the be one of the less talented dancers (though he makes up for it with enthusiasm) and is apparently ranked as one of the less attractive members (although he's my second favourite so idk who's saying this. :P ). To see some of Chen's amazing dancing look for exo weekly idol dancing clips.

Most underated well I dont think so but he has not got the love and hype he deserve from exo fandom specially international kpop fans . Its no wonder kpop fans are more biased to RNB & popular type genre's there is very limited amount who enjoy ballad & pop. But he is still the member who has more faith from general public of his own country ,search no of unique listeners for every member , Chen is above all in terms of it. I was sad first not anymore . He is doing a genre that is not majority favorite . Its same for his senior sm ballad vocalists too.

We are fans so we'd recognize their voices even in a crowd (lol) but tbh they have unique voices. Baekhyun has that raspy sound in his voice that dukshsusj Kyungsoo has a soft voice that melts every fangirl (and non) heart and ears and well... Chen has the voice of an angel.

김종대 까들이 무작위로 막 까는데 얘 한번도 불성실 했던 적은 없음. 리허설 전에 항상 먼저 올라와서 멤버들 기다리고, 춤도 엄청 잘 추지는 않지만 박찬열처럼 뚝딱거린 적도 없음. 노래는 엓메보3명은 취향으로 나뉜다고 팬들이 그러는데 솔직히 실력은 얘가 제일 좋은 거 사실이고,그렇다고 자만하지도 않고 계속 보컬실력 늘림. 팬들이랑 기싸움했다고 하는데 그거에 대해서 나는 잘 모르지만 엑소멤들이 제일 착한 멤버 뽑으라고 하면 항상 첸이랑 레이 가르켰었음. 팬싸에서도 다정해서 김다정,팬싸남친으로 불렸었는데...

I feel like Chen has a doubt and fears about how people think about him, and he want to improve himself better. Being labeled as "famous" sometimes takes the value of a person, some people might not like it, bcs when you label them as "famous" then ppl will only remember that word without knowing the reason why that people is being labeled "famous", unlike when you label ppl as "nice" "kind" "a good voice" (I didn't mean anything bad )

They have a crazy schedule and crazy dance routines. I don't blame their company to have them lipsync to focus on the visual aspect and rest their voice. Even if they are indeed capable of singing live it puts a lot of strain on a singer who has to do it everyday and for several long hours. Even great singers have to take rest to take care of their vocals.
All SM rookies lip sync the first year unless they can't for certain shows. Like exo showcase they didnt lip sync.
To be honest I wouldn't know EXO if I didn't hear jongdae's voice and and now Im an EXO-L and I'm proud of it.

they are shocked because k pop groups are never thought to be so strong and skilled vocally. he should be doing a solo debut and will be successful.
No offend but I think it's not nice for Exo to lose more members. In 3 years, they lose 3 members. I don't think it still nice to lose their main vocal.
I don't think Chen is strong enough for a solo career. He sings really well and has the looks, but might not be enough to carry him.

+Dominique Lola Chen's solo stuff get lots of recognition, you always see them on top of things when they come out~ He may be one of the least popular in EXO, but EXO-L is a laaaarge fanbase, meaning he still has nore fans than most other average groups' popular members even (unless the group's fandom is as big as EXO's)
