- Need for Speed: Most Wanted is a 2012 racing game developed by Criterion Games and published by Electronic Arts. Most Wanted is the nineteenth title in the Need for Speed series and was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation Vita, iOS and Android, beginning in North America in 2012, with a Wii U version following in 2013 under the title Need for Speed: Most Wanted U. The game picked up on the Most Wanted intellectual property, as opposed to the Hot Pursuit reboot that Criterion Games developed previously.
Need for Speed: Most Wanted is set in an open world environment. The game takes on the gameplay style of the first Most Wanted title in the Need for Speed franchise; the contrast difference is the 2012 Most Wanted does not contain a story. Most Wanted allows players to select one car and compete against other racers in three types of events: Sprint races, which involves traveling from one point of the city to another, Circuit races, each having two or three laps total and Speed runs, which involve traversing through a course in the highest average speed possible. There are also Ambush races, where the player starts surrounded by cops and must evade their pursuit as quickly as possible.

After i played fh2 Xbox 360 version and saw nfs mw .this game is waaaay better i wonder why they lowered the graphics that much in fh2
Even in 2024, NFSMW 2012 still has the best engine sounds despite the rubberbanding AI on Most Wanted Races can be very annoying and problematic.
This game still looks great, even 12 years later!
And the cop chases still intense as ever.

must be the browser cookies got me here. I had a 14900k with 4090 both liquid cooled built and this was one of the games I installed to be maxed at 4k. God knows how much I wanted to play this game on max graphics back when i had a potato student pc all those years
This is the first racing game I have ever played and it has such a special place in my heart. I truly enjoy every aspect of it, music, graphics, car list and the progression. I get people hate on it but it did its job, MW2012 lives on
For me it's hot pursuit 2010 my all time favorite in the series for the extreme serious tone sadly didn't get the chance to play rivals since it is similar in that dark tone

MW 2012 is one of the select few games I consider to be "next-gen" even before the PS4 and XB1 were released.
CHAMELEON GAME ENGINE WAS USED IN THE NFS MW 2012. THE VISUALS AND ENVIRONMENT OF THIS GAME ENGINE IS REALLY GOOD.
I PERSONALLY PLAYED AND TESTED NFS MW 2012 AND IT WAS FANTASTIC !!!
Chameleon seems much better to me and should have had priority and potential than the Frostbite engine. I remember when the NFS HP 2010 came out and its graphics engine was visually exquisite..

One of the best childhoods ever, I used to play this when I was like 5 and I would just drive around and race. If i could remember, my brothers used to play ut as well because my brother bought the game (CD) and their stats were INSANE... They were like somewhere in the 12 million I think which was crazy 💀💀
This game aged so well. Criterion deserves so much for delivering some of the best racing games from the ps3/360 era. This game was my spiritual successor to burnout paradise. Love it

There is interesting bug how to farm PRO details. For exaple tires, when you drifting you need to press ESC all the time and is result you get PRO detail when you drift only 500 metres, not 4000. It works with all details.
Or body kit, when you need to avoid 2 crashes you can avoid 1, go to pause and back and you get a PRO detail.
Ngl when the game released..... Whole community thrashed it

the bugatti veyron fully loaded and pro'd up all the way has potential to crack 300 mph. the acceleration and speed of the bugatti easily stomps over the koenisegg. the number one most wanted should have been the bugatti. it should have never been third for the most wanted spot. that bugatti is insane. it is a land rocket with a w12 engine

This game is like hot pursuit only without the pursuit mode and with free roam and you find some cars and not all cars are unlocked through races like the Lamborghini gallardo

"Burnout" is an amazing game... Older with great graphics and so much fun to play until this day.

@@Spartan117-0 Frostbite 2 was used for NFS The Run (Which Blackbox Made). Criterion didn't move to frostbite until NFS Rivals, so this was the final game to use the Chameleon engine they had.

It does not look that great, it looks, well, like a 12 years old game. There are other games that despite time, they do look incredibly good. Driveclub for example and before you call me a fanboy, i find PlayStation/Sony fanboys annoying and they all act like little losers, but, credit where is due.
