I was never upset about "Manny". The guy that uploaded it was upset with me for reasons that he never explained. He just put in the description that I was full of myself or something. When confronted he disabled comments and changed the description with still no explanation. I was confused about the whole thing rather than upset.

Some animators make money. You can also sell animations to others. (Which is mostly what he's doing now.) He's still probably making animations for himself though, it's just a lot more difficult with the new TOS and other bullshit.

the thing is with David Firth is that he creates what he thinks about and he is not afraid to. if i created media/art about some of the things i think about, it would also be creepy. Massive respect for this guy
What stopping you? I'm just working on a story or two that goes in my mind and eventually it will be finished, then I publish it somewhere ;) And you can always work under a pseudonim, nickname etc.
I don't think it's that rare for a person to do that but most people lack time or the talent/love to create such things. But yeah David Firth is amazing on what he does.

Praise the Sun actually, i saw the film at a preview screening in London at the time, and Flying Lotus was there to screen his short film Royals, which is supposed to be a spiritual prequel for his big feature film Kuso, both co-starring David Firth. Firth then showed his film Umbilical World, which is just a bunch of his shorts laced into one film. it was a great night

They may have edited and cut it in a way that resulted in that question being asked after he talked about Meadow Man when it's possible that he talked about Meadow Man after the question was asked in actuality. You can't take video chronology as real chronology.

David Firth is definitely my absolute favorite artist I’ve even seen. His animations. His way of going about things. I just am completely intrigued and astounded by his truly amazing work. He is one of the most talented and amazing souls I’ve ever seen and experienced. Truly inspires me to grow from my own demons, honestly.

It always amazing me... you follow someone's work and you have this pre-conceived notion of what you think they will look, sound and act like, and it's never accurate. I've been a fan of David Firth's work for some time now, and I wasn't sure what to expect, so seeing this nice, police, soft-spoken young man totally threw me for a loop, haha. It's that weird sort-of psychological thing where you expect someone's work to reflect what they're like, and it's usually not particularly true for people. It's similar to how many people in the horror community tend to be some of the nicest people, sort of.
Actually, this is about EXACTLY how I expected Firth to look and especially act. Granted, I expected his style of dress to be darker or a little more avant garde, but that's about it.
David should play Alice Madness Returns. I think he would love it as much as I do. Creepy and beautiful.

i think he would have worked well with the "GORILLAZ" band art feature along side the one who does the gorillaz artwork, but with david's dark mooded features, the gorillaz could have a good animation for music videos in the future from now since they will be working on a new album later on next year.

Coolest animator on CZcams. I've been so into SF since I was 14 (10 years ago) and it really reminded me the potential of human expression and creation. What A LOT of people don't get is how bad and screwed up this earth is. If we just surround ourselves with sunshine and flowers we will never be honest with the darkness that also weaves its way into our lives. Sometimes seeing the dark and twisted aspects of life gives us the essential perspectives we need to thrive and grow as people.

I positively love this man. He's an animator that reaches into my mind and letting all of these strange, horrific, and sometimes happy imaginations go through my head. I even actually dream quite strange things like his works. It's absolutely amazing and I can't wait to see what he does next.
A dark,a light,emotional,sad,depressing,mysterious,funny,scary,nightmare and crazy and bizzare masterpiece of an artist,animator,the works,he is a legend,talent and the ability to play with ones emotions in his works,may he produce much more.

I think its great that it's cable television that inspires Dave to make some of the things that he makes. I've always loved going to Newgrounds and checking out the animations people put out. What I love about Dave's animations is that something like Salad Fingers can be very engaging for the audience. Salad Fingers has no concrete story being told and people are able to come up with their theories and stories as the episodes are coming out. Even Dave's videos about TIME and the Video Dating Service animation are more thought provoking than most of what you'd find on television. CREAM is better than half the crap on television that tries to be deep.
I do love his music animation though because it's just true. It's like when Ed Sheeran said he was surprised how well his most recent album did like he's not the most commercialized mainstream artist out there that gets hamfisted into every ad imaginable. The most streamed artist of all time that has billions of streams on spotify and billions of views on youtube. He's surprised like it's not manufactured to be so.
