I've been a drummer for 25 years(full time now!) And I've been a tool fan for about 15 years. This is one of the most incredible vids I've ever seen! It literally made me so happy! Amazing talent and special shoutout of course to the drummer absolutely amazing work! (Even did the hand clap section with the hihats!) Keep it up lads 👍👍
The Grudge is incredibly complex with all the polyrhythms going on, on the guitar, bass and the drums. You guys killed it. But i have to give props to the 20 seconds scream, holly fucking shit. (I got hooked on Pneuma cover video)🔥🌀👁️👄👁️👁️🌀
To clear things up, im playing guitar for past 3 years. As of last year i started learning/covering all Joot's discog. This is one of my fav songs to play.
@@lukanenadovic5065 Oh sweet! The guitarist for my band has been playing for a little over 2.5 years- he’s absolutely crazy! And yeah I fully agree- our singer is awesome and was able to perform that night while still recovering from being sick. Mad props to him
@@cassiodrummer I don't have a band sadly, there isn't a lot of ppl listening to tool, or something similar. (Where i live, cuz i live in Serbia) One guy plays the bass and he knows a couple tool riffs and thats about it...
This singer is finding out how much Maynard used his voice like an additional instrument to the band rather than just toning out words to match the music. Good stuff and effort especially on the 27 second scream near the end of the song. Truth be told the hold band was pretty killer on this one
As with pneuma, phenomenal job! Would distance from the mic a lil during the harsher vocals though. It's weird to have vocals that high in the mix on a tool song lol Y'all got a special bond learning to play freaking Tool songs together btw. Takes dedication and trust. You should actually stick with each other and keep working together to make something great instead of wasting your lives becoming wage slaves.
Totally agree. These guys rock. Not an attack on the singer but typically in a tool song Maynard is a little under the music, or at same level. In the setup vocals were a little too forward. Performance good, mix just needs a little tweaking.
@@kevingage4157 its not easy to put yourself at the back of a mix. It helps that Tool's live performances have some of the best mixing and engineering in world.I think he did a good job of not overpowering his bandmates in the quieter parts
I’m not sure where they were playing or what the audience was like, but I can imagine some grandparents looking with bewilderment at each other at 6:39 lol 😂😂😂
Thanks! I actually find it kind of funny- Danny counts it off that way live too! In rehearsals even for songs like Pneuma or Descending with very strange time signatures I often end up counting in with 4/4 because everyone in the band can subdivide and sometimes it just feels easier to me.
@musicalwarrior9079 once again, astonishing work, man! and loving that wavedrum, I had the older version (not Danny's toilet seat one ofc) for quite a number of years, it's so fun to play around with
I just made this new account to start posting drum stuff on but it’s still me- but thank you! That’s cool you had a wavedrum too! I’ve been liking mine a lot- my only gripe is that it’s such a pain to program. From what I’ve heard at least it’s more confusing than some of the older models- but even still I love using it and am going to start trying to make some of my own unique sounds on it soon!
Great job once again! I am wondering, how much does the drummer practice per week? Must be like at least 20 hours to get that close to the original. Also any tips for learning TOOL songs on drums myself? Fantastic job guys 👍👍👍
I’m not sure how many hours I practice each week- but it’s all split up between a lot of the music groups I’m in. I was in the drumline in my schools marching band for a year and that consisted of an hour of rehearsal each morning as well as two 4 hour rehearsal after school each week. I also am the drummer for my highschool jazz band- and I play concert percussion too! All of those different things probably do add to a lot of hours each week!
And as far as tips for learning the songs- first off I’ve been playing a lot of them for over a year so it’s gotten easier- but I’d say don’t be afraid of trying something that feels way above your skill level! When I started learning pneuma It took weeks to somewhat comfortably learn the first verse and I didn’t have the chops to play almost any of the Swiss army triplet solo but when I revisited the song a few months ago I learned the rest of the song in less than a week. I’ll also fully admit- up until recently I’ve only played songs that Drumeo has had sheet music for because i couldn’t learn them by ear for a long time but I finally started learning a few (like Third Eye and Fear Inoculum) that don’t have sheet music anywhere. So yeah- don’t be afraid to try something that feels way too difficult, just slow it down a lot and I’d definitely highly recommend using sheet music to start!
@@musicalwarrior9079 that's awesome man! Drumeo is amazing too, but the guy who posts accurate transcriptions on utube (no paywall) is really digging into every note. 'Rob Frawley 2nd' highly recommend you check him out. Youre a solid drummer!
checked out a few videos, insane band! super tight, both individually and as a group. lil bit of advice though, back away from the mic just a notch or two when doing harsh or otherwise loud vocal parts. the power will still be there, and it will sound much smoother overall
@@cassiodrummer brother, I’ve been playing drums for over 20 years and you blow me out of the water. Your fucking timing and internal clock is unbelievable! Keep kicking ass my friend.

That's a Carey clone on drums! The hair, the nose, the skills...Impressive!
if that tank top was a basketball jersey he'd have the entire look nailed!!
Little known fact...it's his daughter 😂
Did you saw pneuma with them? Its amazing!!!
Carey says that this is the hardest song for him to play.
Cuz of all the Swiss triplets!
Solid stuff. Great to see young fellas playing proper music. Talented musicians.
Man this is the Grudge at turbo speed! Which makes it even more impressive
Man, killer 🤘🏴☠️ this is said to be one of the bands hardest songs to play live.
Those vocals!
Fuck yeah for trying the scream!! 7:12
Great cover, teens or not! Loved seeing the singer oxygenating his blood, those deep breaths before attempting THE scream. Valient effort!
Mad respect. And that drummer is phenomenal
A for effort...yall got some balls to even attempt this song.
wow a lot of work gone into that complete respect. keep working dudes!

my guy knows his rudiments. so clean on the pots!
Thank you! I’ve learned a lot of rudiments from my high school drumline and jazz band, I wouldn’t be nearly where I’m at without those!
FREAKIN SICK!
now some words to the singer.. You've got it.. just keep honing it!
What the F!!!!! I dig where you guys are going. Keep playing and never surrender. The future is bright for you MOFOs
Props to the guitarists too for handling this on the trusty Strat 🤘
So much young talent! I wish you all the best for the future!
holy shit, that drummer a beast.
Love it when the next generation covers the greatest band to ever grace this earth
This vocalist is insane!!!
The drummer is great, you got a great future ahead of you. Most drummers wouldn't even attempt to cover a tool song Danny would be proud.
Is it OCD of m that I wanted the guitarist and bassist to switch spots!? 😂
I said the same!
