Ye s the only 2k game i liked was 2k14 and 2k15 and 2k15 just because of draft in universe it gives me GM mode vibe with my friends the only thing hctp misses is latest modes and moves and roster universe mode too think if a remaster come😀
This game mixed in with smackdown vs raw 2011s weapons engine would be unbeatable in terms of wrestling games

Just like 2K was until that BS WWE 2K20. Yukes made HCTP.

Maybe there is too much limitations on this game for today's standards on a wrestling game, but why don't THQ and now 2K learn from this awesome masterpieces, yes we need realism but we need more arcade feeling too.

the best feature in this game is the career mode. from bottom to the undisputed and started all over again.
A lot of these i have done before, but that chokeslam off the cell was perfect. And I really love the finisher interruptions and multiple finishers, they're really cool and a lot of them i have never done before : D

Yes they should. And since WWE owns so many rights, licenses, etc, they would have no difficulty doing that.
Wouldn't be as difficult as remastering Def Jam Vendetta or FFNY, for example.

@@SomeGamesAreTooFun wanting to bring the HCTP style pro wrestling game back is what caused the Yukes & 2k split. Yukes got tired & bored w/ doing the WWE 2K series. It got stale for them.
This is what they wanted to bring back. Possibly wanted to bring back the AKI Engine. But 2K phucked it up.
Had they been smart, kept their mouths shut & let Yukes cook, WWE 2K20 "could have" been a No Mercy (AKI) or HCTP return.
AEW is looking like the return of the AKI Engine. That could've been WWE 2K.

You should do Smackdown vs Raw too even though it didn't have as good a roster. I liked it because it was the last of that HCTP engine and the wrestlers weren't all glossy. And you had Andre of course

Great game, and no wonder why the SVR games were great too since here comes the pain was the core of those games
most animations of svr games are from smackdown games. and some new moves are cool in svr.. both game titles are good.
HCTP wasn't the core of those games, HCTP was the Pinnacle of the SD Series which started on PS One.
HCTP is the greatest of the 5 releases from ps1 to ps2.
The 1st SVR began a new chapter. Tbh I was pretty disappointed w/ most WWE games after HCTP. And that covers a lot of ground.
IMHO, this is the last truly great pro wrestling game in the U.S.
You should try the Brock Lesnar german off the hell in a cell!

THQ was the publisher for HCTP. Yukes was the engine (I believe they snuck the AKI Engine onto The Japanese ps2 only release of Wrestle Kingdom 1+2).
WK even has some HCTP BGM on it.
I believe Yukes kinda wanted to do another HCTP, 2K didn't & that was part of the rift that caused Yukes to tell 2k to F'off

@@PontFlair Well, its still depends on what the publisher (THQ) wants for the game or who they want to develop it since like the early wwe2k game are developed by Yukes but 2k pass the project to Visual concept. So yeah it's still 2k fault

4:46 i have never seen that move ever in my life? What's it called? And how do you do it?
It's a hidden move that only taker does as a preset move, you can get it by selecting Undertakers moveset when creating your wrestlers moves.
RVD has one too. His is the slingshot legdrop to the apron that he used.
In order to give someone those moves, be it a member of the in game roster or one of your CAWs, you had to set their stance to either RVD or Undertaker.
If you set it to RVD you could also do the running dropkick to the chair seen in this video too.

If you play in a hardcore match or falls count anywhere match, you just run towards the arena entrance until the little red icon turns blue. Press triangle after it's blue and you'll enter a new area. After that, you'll see a bunch of different entry and exit points that you can access, whether you want to keep venturing out or return to the ring.
