The “Moonwalk” did have a name before MJ, it was called the back slide. And yes it was taught to him and he made it worldwide known, which is just as important. MJ always gave credit to those he was inspired by too.
He even called it "back slide" on an interview.
It's still called back slide til this day but idk what happend if MJ just changed it or he messed up but moonwalk is completely different dance move lol. I love MJ but I am also a dancer and many lectors told me this.

He was just that famous that it got connected together but real dancers will tell u it isn't like that. I call it moonwalk myself even tho I know the truth so I don't really care but this is the truth.

People were nasty about his crazy small nose at this point but after his autopsy we find that he had dsicoidal lupus and it attacked the cartilage in his nose, causing it to collapse. It got better before he died. Most surgeries were about to repair damage. He did have a couple legit nose jobs, but that's why they tell people with lupus NOT to get plastic surgery. Idk why he didnt just say that when he was alive. He said that mystery kept people relevant in the media. I have to say he was right. He's been dead 13 years and I'm writing a comment about this

At the last minute before he went on stage to sing Billie Jean he asked his mom for her jacket. Yeah the moonwalk was around in the 70's but I think it was called something else lol Michael didn't steal the dance he just did it...it got noticed because he was a celebrity doing it so well.

Michael actually said he learned the moonwalk from little kids on the streets and he made it his own. He credited the kids but I don’t recall him saying someone taught it to him. I honestly think he may have seen someone do it b4 him but he rlly learned it from kids as he said. Michael was an amazing dancer since a very young kid! He only got better!
