low just doing their own thing and quietly getting better and more surprising with every release.
Absolutely. I love all their work, but this trajectory towards noise and distortion combined with those stunningly clear vocal harmonies is captivating. The detail here that shutters and throbs in the later half has such great texture.
Low's music, like Radiohead's, profoundly effects the unconscious mind and emotions. Their music reveals more meaning with repeat listening.

One piece of Low trivia that doesn't seem to be out in the public are the details of where they played their first public gig ever: It was at The Refinery Coffeehouse in Duluth, MN which was located at 201 E Superior St. I know this because I was a co-owner of that venue. It's a special feeling for me to know I was there at that time.

having been a fan of Low for a couple of decades, i feel that i can kind of guess where they may go next. This record had me believing wholeheartedly that i have no idea what the hell i'm talking about. what a savage, gorgeous, sonic masterpiece this record truly is. Fascinating. I used to do Life Drawing modeling and you've really captured some of the deep aspects of that. It was very intriguing seeing it done via zoom. Somehow the video captures that connection I felt with the artists drawing me in person, but the jagged distortion conveys that separation we are forced to share in this new non normal.

I have been listening to Low for years. Alan Sparhawk and Mimi Parker are Mormons and so an I. Many Low songs are about God, good and evil, redemption, anti-drug.
You'd love their last record "Double Negative", might be the best album of their career so far, but "Secret Name", "Things We Lost in the Fire" and "Trust" are master pieces as well, and "I Could Live in Hope" and "Ones and Sixes" are among their absolute best albums too.
