  • Hello everyone,
    I took this video today as I thought some people might want to hear the sound difference between the S65AMG V12 BiTurbo and the S63AMG V8 BiTurbo. Both cars are standard, no exhaust mods
    Which one sounds better?
    I hope you like the video

      The w221 S class is my fav model and not because I own this two but the lines and the wide arches make this cars stand out a lot.
      The 550 is a great car, it’s a V8 with plenty of power to still put a smile on your face 😊

    I know that v12 sound all too well! love it! how do you compare the ride between the two? I have my s65vand ive driven a 550 but never a 63, my 65 feels soooooo different from the 550 but id think the 63 is close, it also has hydraulic suspension correct? i like how I can kick the back of my 65 out while taking off but id think since the 63 is all wheel it must feel different on curves?

    • @Sam_AMG
      @Sam_AMG  Před 6 měsíci +1

      The ride is the same on the S65 and S63 as they have the same suspension set up. My S63 is rwd as here in uk we only got them as rwd

    Reliabilty wise id say either s500 or the s600 ??

    • @Sam_AMG
      @Sam_AMG  Před 2 měsíci

      I can’t comment for the S500 as I’ve never owned one but my first S class was an S600 which you can see in my channel. You’ll be able to see older videos i posted of that car from a few years ago. I done an AMG facelift conversion to that car apart from headlamps and I fitted 21’s in that car also. It’s the one with the S600 OCD number plate. It really was a lovely car. It’s the car that made me fall in love with the S class. That car was the reason why i currently own two S classes, S63AMG and S65AMG. If you’re thinking of getting an S class, i would recommend the S600 over the S500 as the S500 is naturally aspirated V8 engine whereas the S600 is a 5.5 V12 BiTurbo and the car is very fast for its size.

      @@FayZz-xp1tw The V12 engines suffer with coil packs. They normally last about 60.000 miles. If they’ve been done that’s one thing not to worry about otherwise do keep it in mind that they cost about £1k each side. It has 24 spark plugs but they cost around £200 so not too bad and if you’re handy with spanner’s you should be able to do them yourself. The hater pump for the turbos can go faulty and it affects the cars performance but again, it’s not too expensive to buy, around £100. Engine mounts do go as with any car but because of the power this engines make, they don’t last as long as a normal car. Depends where you take it too but I wouldn’t go to a dealer for this job as I would imagine the price would be eye watering. Check for oil leaks. Normally it’s the oil level sensor that’s faulty as it’s made out of plastic and due to the heat, it can crack and leaks oil from there. I had this problem on my S600 and the S65AMG but it’s easy to fix and not too expensive to buy the part. If any of the ABS sensors go faulty, the car behaves very strange and it might seem like there’s something much bigger that’s wrong with the car but just one little sensor can make the car go crazy. Apart from the coil packs that are expensive, the V12 in my opinion is just like any other S class. You do have to be realistic and keep in mind that it was an expensive car to buy new and it’s still an expensive car to maintain properly but if you get a good one, it shouldn’t give you problems. I always say to any petrol head, if you have the opportunity to own a V12 car before it’s becomes nearly impossible to own cars with such engines, go for it!

    Is this true?
    1. The s63 is actually faster?
    2. Even though they’re 4 cylinders apart they still have similar hp?

    • @Sam_AMG
      @Sam_AMG  Před 4 měsíci +1

      The facelift S63AMG V8 Biturbo W221 in USA is faster because they came as a four wheel drive whereas the S65AMG came only as a RWD in Europe and USA. This is the reason why the S63 has a better 0-60 time. As I’m in Europe, both my S classes are RWD and the 0-60 is the same but driving both cars back to back, I think the S65 is the faster car, especially from 60mph onwards.
      Also, power wise, they are similar. My S63 is the Performance pack and it has 571 bhp and 900NM whereas my S65AMG is 612 bhp and 1000NM

      The facelift model does. From 2011 to 2013 they have the newer engine instead of the old 6.2 naturally aspirated engine. I should know as I own both cars you see in the video. Check out my other video of both S classes together as I open the bonnet and you can see the m157 engine which is 5.5 V8 BiTurbo. My S63AMG is also the performance pack which means it has 571bhp and 900NM

      They are both great but, the engine in the S65 will always be very special in my opinion. This will never make another engine like this and if I had two choose between the two, I’d have to pick the S65AMG. Fuel consumption is bad on both 😂. The S65AMG would use 40 litres in 100km if driven hard so it’s bad. The S63AMG is better on fuel
