How does the leather feel on the $999 taller version? Wondering if there’s going to be much difference between that and the aniline leather version, or if it’s not worth the upgrade

How is this chair holding up. Had the leather on arm rest started to crack yet?
i bought the TOP of the line model on 12/26/23 and today i finally got the shipping label on 5/8/24
they did give me 250 off but im not even sure its worth the frustration i still paid 2100...
Do the cushions snap off like in the original?
They do. The mounting system for the cushions is quite similar and uses clips.
Long shot, but did you keep the box or otherwise remember what brand was on the box? I know these are made in some misc factory and resold by a number of retailers, but none of them would divulge the manufacturer until you receive the actual box (because the real name is on the box).
I did not keep the box. I don't remember if the box really mentioned any brand in particular. If you watch Videobob Moseley's video, it doesn't appear to have a brand printed on the boxes. I believe his video also mentions that CurverK is the manufacturer for a lot of the replica brands, so that could be why. czcams.com/video/wWovp7b6JcQ/video.html
Thanks so much for the review! Is the back actually 33.25 inches tall? I read that both Amazon and Sohnne chairs are slightly shorter than they report on their webpage (Sohnne Tall: 31.5 in reality vs. 33 inches on webpage).
I just measured it and it's pretty much right at 33.25" tall for me (the cushion is slightly taller than the back because of the angle). If you measure only to the top of the back (excluding the cushion), it's basically right at 33".

@@vdburglar I wasn’t aware of that brand until now, but from what I understand CurverK is actually the manufacturer for a lot of replica brands. At least that’s what I was told in another video.
@@vdburglar I should also mention I don't believe I paid any sales tax when purchasing from CurverK, which helps quite a lot with the purchase when the price is this high.

Seems odd that they only put one coat of paint on that bracket. Very disappointing to say the least. I was about to pull the trigger but for $1700 bucks I would expect more on this.
For what it’s worth, the feet are steel and not painted, similar to the real deal. The only parts that are painted are where chair and ottoman screw into the base. I agree with you though, it would have been nice to not have it chip the second I tightened the ottoman.
Nice! I ordered precisely the same model you did and it shipped just yesterday from a west coast retailer here in Canada (Eternity Modern). The walnut finishes were sold out and had 8 - 12 week waits, so I determined then that they were the more popular finish. This was fine with me, though, as I wanted the “Palisades” / rosewood one, of which they had 4.
I’m also 6’, so I’m glad I went with the “tall” model. I don’t even think it cost more money than the regular version, but I could be wrong. I’m psyched to get this thing.
Update: I’m sitting in the identical chair I spoke of a few days ago, and yeah, it rocks!
I totally second the advice to get the Tall version if you’re at or around 6’ in height. In fact, you could be quite a bit smaller and still love the Tall. It’s simply more of a great chair, in my opinion.
If you do a Google Image Search for “Frasier” + “Eames Lounge Chair” or something, you’ll see a picture of him sitting in what has to be the “regular.” In any case, out of curiosity, I Googled his height, because the chair you’ll see him in looks absolutely punt. Turns out he is 185 cm, or about 6’1. So to my 183 / 6’, yeah-dude would have been much better suited to a Tall, had they been around at the time.

How did you decide on the the curverk vs other replicas out there? Did they ask you to make this review?
The build quality seemed better overall when I compared to other replicas. The seats are attached via a clip system similar to the one seen on authentic lounges rather than velcro straps like some other brands
They did not ask me to make the review and I'm not affiliated with CurverK (or any brands, for that matter) in any way. I stumbled across a thread on reddit and made my purchase based off that thread + another video review I've seen on CZcams. Originally this video was set to "unlisted" but I figured it's best if the video was just made public since it seems like a video many would be interested in.

Out of curiosity, did you have any concerns about the security of paying with a credit card or PayPal from their site? The website isn’t the most polished so feels a little risky if I’m being honest 😅

Is it comfortable to sit and work with a laptop or read long intervals?

Sorry for the super late reply, but yes, it's extremely comfortable. My fiance works in my office occasionally for a few hours at a time and sits in this chair.
I'm worried about the headrest, does it reach the back of your head? I'm not that tall at 5'9 but not being able to rest your head back seems wild on all the eames chairs
I'm around 6' to 6'1" and the very top of my neck (just under the back of my head) hits the top of the headrest cushion. This is comfortable and feels supportive enough for me, but at 5'9" you'll probably have the back of your head hit somewhere near the top of the headrest cushion so I think it should be even better for you. This is, of course, with the A+ Taller version of the chair, so I would aim for that as it is the tallest version CurverK makes.
I think 5'9" or so is probably actually the ideal height for this exact chair, personally.@@peppaz
