- I had the privilege of working with Amy Winehouse, and can't quite believe it's 10 years ago that she died. A remarkable talent, taken from us too soon. Here's my short tribute to her. RIP Amy x
Beautifully done, Carol.❤️ Trombone is the closest instrument to the human voice and therefore a tribute to Amy on trombone is such a perfect match. Played from the heart, you nailed it.
Carol, I am so impressed. You GET emotion in music via the trombone. Big fan for sure. I am a valve trombone guy because I am a trumpet player. Always trying to improve.

I only saw Amy once, and that was at The Rayners Hotel, Rayners Lane with NYJO, one Sunday morning.
I was with a friend, and have to admit that whenever Bill Ashton introduced a singer to do a couple of numbers, we didn't pay a lot of attention. This was because we were there to see the band, plus the singers were usually ok, but were never seen again.
So we were standing at the bar when she started, and he looked at me with astonishment and I nodded. We didn't hear of her for a long time.
That was the wonderfully talented sixteen year old Amy.
I did a NYJO gig with her too - you’ve got a great memory. I don’t remember where or when it was, but remember everyone being blown away!
Well, it was definitely The Rayners Hotel. We often went once a month to see NYJO, and as Amy was born 1983 and was sixteen at the time it must have been 1999 or 2000.
Wow - I wonder if I was on the gig?!
I really couldn't tell you. There were always so many in NYJO!
That's a beautiful tribute Carol. Your trombone playing, as always, is superb. I'm also really knocked out by your video editing. That's a whole other set of skills and each video I see you seem to be getting better and better at it!

"Ditto" to what has already been said! What more could I add? I do believe there is (a different) life, after our journey on Earth is done...and I'm sure Amy appreciates your tribute to her. :-)
