There is a notification in the game panel when you get paid
There should be a feature added to the calendar so rent has structure of some sort. As the game does not make it clear.
@@nerodiseppia99 most ppl I’ve talked to don’t get a pop up 🥲 I’ve had soooo many glitches with this pack and I don’t even have mods installed since I’m waiting for them to be updated before I put them in my game again

tip : shared room stuff barely matter, your best furnished shared kitchen will bring less money than a cheap individual kitchen is what i learned from playing earlier today
Pretty reasonable tbh, most people in real life prefer private over shared amenities.
@@sparrowwilson4514 that said I do wish there was an option for two shared rooms to share one kitchen (this would not give any negative as long as the renters are two solo renters.
so two single people could share one kitchen. (would still prefer there own bathroom, and there own minifriedge).
Well I lived in a 3 separate bedrooms with shared kitchen and bathroom as a student. Great time.
@@elderscrollsswimmer4833 I did too that's why I tried to recreate that situation in a build but I got barely any money when I was paying a lot IRL 😭
I’m currently building 2 lots. One is a Victoria terrace with 3 houses with 3 floors, and the forth is a 2 story with the basement its own lot. And the second lot is maisonettes.
There is tiny list called suggestions under the units menu that tells you what you can add to the room to make it more expensive. I personally placed a minifridge and microwave in my unit and it made the rent go far more up.
I feel like not getting paid as a landlord has to be a bug … so odd!
The tenants are paying the Landlord
They only pay them on wednesdays, so if you play through none... You wont get paid
@@AnaisGagnon-co8ef And they won't pay them the very first week (just like how tenants typically starting off in a fresh save you don't have to pay bills until the second week cuz you lived there for just a day).

Im not sure how many people realize, but with the small build, if your rent isnt at least higher than 75, you wont make anything. (There is tax on each room) They may be paying just the tax.
Well, jokes on you, we had a balcony in our previous flat that was accessible through the bathroom door or by climbing out the hallway window xD.
I know she had a strict budget but I would totally turn that second floor into another unit…or two
i feel like because of the per rental tax, it would be more profitable to have one really good rental than two not so good rentals

I made a traditional Malay house & rented out the extra rooms. There's a shared kitchen & bathroom. I never realized how different our layouts are compared to western houses.

One thing I would have loved to see in a pack like this was the ability to make a minimally furnished apartment and have the tenants be able to decorate.
If you rent in real life, more often than not you are bringing your own furniture and decorations.
Also roommates are able to bring their own things since Going to Uniersity.
you can decorate your house if you're living in an apartment though. It makes sense to me that NPC tenants wont decorate since they dont do it in houses they own either. It's that part of the game that you kinda have to roleplay yourself if you want it to happen

Roomates in discover university will place items on surfaces, but the game's AI isn't good enough to fully furnish an apartment for you. The furniture needs to be placed by an actual human for it to make sense. In real life in the UK there are both furnished and unfurnished apartments to rent, a lot of people get a furnished apartment when they first move out on their own because they don't own anything yet. I don't know what's most common in South East Asia where the pack is set but maybe in SEA furnished apartments are the most common.
When you move in I think you do have the option to move in to an unfurnished apartment so you can place your own furniture if you want to.

for a video, you should build a few apartments and each one has a different vibe! for example, one modern sleek minimal house, maybe a pastel switch streamer apartment, an old bookish sim who has a life goal of solving some secret puzzle, etc!

I legitimately spent 3 hours looking for a house to replace the "roomies" house in oasis springs before giving up, downloading town houses for the BFF's and marrying them to the roomies and penny pizzazz.

But when i tell you that i spent an hour playing three different households and it was the most fun i had since i bought the game.
We're talking three different marriages, three different jobs, three different houses... on the same lot.

I wanted people living in my save.
I messed up the aging in my town, so everyone was dead due to neighborhood stories. Except the Cullens... (all 8 vampires they just existin the background carlisle is a doctor and has delivered all 6 of my kids)😂😂😂
None of my child sims had anyone to play with. None of the auto generated townies were good enough to marry.
Johnny zest was my only friend... died of old age (mccc tailored life spans failed.)
So i made a new save, transferred all MY sims (including the cullens) and started placing apartments
Johnny zest runs your (lilsimsie'@) trailer park in oasis springs and then a small lot in sulani (the volcano lot) for a teen and her younger sisters.
My main family is going to have all of their kids living on the lot (one or 2 will move out or story purposes)
The switching between lots one right after another is GOD TIER. Im confused as to how i played without it

this build turned out so cute!! I do wish that you did less budget builds though, or allowed yourself to have a higher budget. free real estate exists in the game and I wish you could go all out with the furnishings and really show off your decorating 😁

You should build an apartment that’s like Spider-Man’s in New York that has shared bathrooms and play as a tenet. When I get the pack I’m building a trailer park in Stranger Ville.

once i get this pack im making an iconic landlord sim named larry the landlord who is really mean and i'll make him the landlord whenever i'm a tenant
From my experiments so far, it's not only the environment score. Putting activities like painting, crafting, etc., in shared spaces also increases the amenity score (tried it with an easel: easel in shared space -> better amenities; easel in my space -> fewer amenities; same with hopscotch). I'm not sure about community gardens yet. It's also about the amount of stuff you offer. Most of the time, it will not go up from one item only; you need several. Pool size could be a cheat here (more experiments needed)
Programming-wise, I imagine, they assigned thresholds for each amenity level (could be relative to the unit size as well; more experiments are needed here), and each item has a score (from environment, activities, etc). You get a better amenity score if the combined score reaches the threshold.
I need someone to make the Bluey house and Heeler Family in the sims. I think it would be so cute

I think it'd be a fun idea if you tried filling up newcrest with like only rentals lots to live in (but maybe like make some lots here and there a restaurant or a spa), because I think it's something I'd do with the pack but sadly I don't have it yet, and I just think creating such a lively neighbourhood could be a fun idea for a Building series

for some reason this build kind of reminds me of that one 2 bed 1 bath house in the Sims 3 Isla Paradiso that i absolutely loved playing in. great build as always!!!

I rebuilt the landgraab mansion near the back of their lot and built a three bed home either side further forward with a courtyard in between for pool parties and potlucks, like a square with a house either side and a mansion behind, im gonna play there as a tennant with landgraab landlords
Could save a lot of money by just having that empty upstairs room be a fake room. Roof pieces for the walls on either side and just two 3 wide wall pieces to close it off at the ends.

I'm having the same issue with getting paid from tenants so hopefully they're working on it. All packs have the bugs when they first come out. Cute apartment.

i bought the pack and i really love it! however i do have to say that there has been pretty awful lag when decorating my tenants apartment! could just be my game but still love it nonetheless:)
if they made a pack that was centered around really cheap items and repairing them and DIYing them into cool stuff on a budget id hop on that so fast. maybe a stuff pack like "Home Budget Reno" idk lol
Irl a lot of people buy a house, split the floors into different units or have like 2 units per floor, and the landlord might live on one of the floors. But I've only ever seen shared kitchen spaces in affordable housing.
The other interesting thing between irl and Sims is irl rentals like this the rented rooms won't come furnished. You're renting a space for your stuff and use of the kitchen and laudry space basically. So, in theory, you could leave the rentals blank. I assume that doesn't work with the way the gameplay is setup tho.

I built a beachside duplex on this lot that was very remiscent of sims 3 island paradise resort lodgings 😂 also its 20k. Each apartment houses up to 2 sims so im kinda proud even tho its uggy

I didn't realize you needed to add more than bathroom and kitchen things, so my tennants were revolting and I had no idea... I thought they brought their own furnishings. :D ha ha ha
I think having a basement room rental or having a smaller two story with the main bedroom on the main level and the rentals upstairs would save some of the lot space instead of building such a big honkin foot print

I found the easiest thing to do on a budget for my sim who already owned a house was have my sims make just ONE unit on there existing property (the main house being unit 1 where the owner lives and the rental addition being unit #2). I have a family where the adult son was living with his dad. I ‘built’ the dad a small cabin (modified a room from the gallery) and the adult son and his family (fiancee and two kids) rent the main house from the dad. Since grandpa/dad is an elder I do wonder if he dies, does an NPC take over as landlord instead of his adult son?

It's actually super annoying bc it looks like they never clean up the stinky food ans uou can't drag and drop bc it's in the shared space so the sims have to do it themselves.
I assume Simsies kitchen will be the same so I probably won't play in this lol.
I may add it just for something in my world to fill a lot lol
"I'm giving myself 24k because that's how much you get with 2 Sims" and then she completely forgot a starting 2-Sim household still need to pay for the lot anyway, meaning even if you'll still need to cheat for money, or have 3-Sim starter, or work your way to buying this lot. What was even the point of setting a budget in the first place?
