Thank you for talking about this. I am a Para. I enjoy supporting students and teachers. It is rewarding. Thank you for your videos.
@@debbiephillips6809 It really is. I loved being a para. Love being a teacher. Glad you enjoyed this video 🩷
Great video! You are right on with all of these points! Teaching gets tougher and tougher each year...it's never ending. I've taught for a long time and the amount of extra work gets more and more each year even if the "teaching" part gets a bit easier.
I’ve heard many teachers say this. Praying for teachers everywhere 🙏🏽
Those pros & cons were on point. I’ve worked as a para and now a specials teacher and you hit the nail on the head 😅.
Thank you for watching 🫶🏽🫶🏽
this is exactly what i needed to know. thank you!
I’m glad. You’re welcome. Thanks for watching 🫶🏽
Great video and tips!!!
Thanks ma!! 💕
Great video ❤
Thank you 🩷😘
Great points, all so helpful. I was wondering as a paraprofessional if you had to ever be the substitute teacher for the class(es) you worked in.
I did several times when they had to leave early or if they had to step away for a meeting or training and didn’t have coverage.
❤❤❤
Good afternoon Ms. Leonard:
I hope this comment finds you doing well, blessed, and staying safe. I am doing well.
Thank you for sharing this episode on the pros and cons of being a certified educator and paraprofessional. I truly understand what you are talking about. It is a reward making a difference in the scholars lives knowing that they feel comfortable with you taking time to educate them in preparation for our global society.
Have a blessed day and weekend ahead!
Thanks for watching and supporting 🫶🏽🫶🏽
@@_lovelykristen You're most welcome! 🤗
Do you think so many meetings and trainings that teachers must attend are necessary? Do you feel that they make you a better teacher?
I understand the benefits, but it does feel like too much at times. I’m still trying to figure out things inside the classroom, so having so many outside responsibilities can become overwhelming.
As a teacher or paraprofessional, do you choose which grade you will work with or is it based on the school's needs?
Some administrations will ask your preference and will try to make it work, but it ultimately is based on the needs of the school.
I'm currently a Para Educator at a High School and I have 6 periods with one planning period. I'm a study hall teacher and have access to their Edgenuity and FLVS to unlock unit tests and do reviews. Pay grade is much higher and that's enough responsibility for now 😊
That’s awesome! How is it working with high schoolers?
@@_lovelykristenas a man and my demeanor I set my boundaries fast and backed it up with admin intervention and referrals. After the rules were set, I now can finally show them I'm here to help and encourage them to earn those credits they are lacking. Juices and hot Cheetos helps lol
@@LifeisGood863 That’s awesome. Definitely have to set firm boundaries but love them all the same 💕
Congratulations on your first year teaching, you'll be teaching their kids one day.😊 @@_lovelykristen
As a paraprofessional, did you work in one classroom or did you assist in multiple classrooms?
I’ve done both. I assisted in one class when I was a 1-on-1 sped para. Then I became a 4th grade sped para so I assisted in multiple classes.
