- Stephen Flynn grilled Rishi Sunak over the Israeli invasion of Rafah during a session of PMQs on Wednesday, 8 May.
SNP leader Stephen Flynn picks up the issue troubling many MPs - calling for an end to arms sales to Israel.
He congratulated new SNP Scottish First Minister Johnson Swinney, suggesting: “Our opponents should be careful what they wish for.”
Turning to Israel, he added: “As we await the imminent Israeli incursion into Rafah with 1.6 million children, it has been reported the US has paused an arms shipment. The UK will follow suit won’t it?”

They don't recognise the Palestinian population as existing under international law, as the mechanism for doing so is by recognising the nation state that they are citizens of, so most of the Geneva Conventions don't actually apply, which is why those laws aren't considered to be being broken... there are other stateless people around the world, but they're mostly inside nations that don't recognise them... as far as I know, Palestinians are the only population that we keep completely outside the legal system. 140 countries do recognise them, just Europe, N.America and a few others that don't. Not recognising Palestine is what lets them do things that would otherwise be serious crimes. There's a lot of money in having a population that you can experiment on.
