    1. Carbon
    2. Bamboo
    3. Stokes
    I live in the Bay Area of California. Reason for Carbon is because of its stiffness and clearance. We don’t have a great road here. The Bamboo is a great board. If it had a bigger clearance without using the AT wheels. Definitely I would choose bamboo. We have potholes and cracks on the road deep enough that would scrape and throw you off the board, regardless the flexibility. Carbon for speed and stiffness. There’s a majority of reckless drivers here. We have a “bike lane” people don’t follow the road rules. The breaking power is much needed and the speed to get yourself out of sticky situation. We don’t have a designated/ separated “bike lane.” It’s literally off the side of the road with other cars.

    mahalos for all your expertise, i bought all 3 of my Evolve boards because of your commentary, We live in Hawaii and like to ride thru ala Moana and Waikiki, right off the beach we have wide side walks. I first bought the GTR Carbon, 3 weeks ago later I bought the Bamboo Hadean a week and a half ago , then 2 days ago I bought the carbon Hadean. , I love all 3 boards" LIFE CHANGING" , you are exactly right, all 3 boards are exactly how you explained it, thinking about buying the Stoke now, but the store that sells the Evolve ESkates here The Bike Factory does not carry it due to low commision from Evolve , I use the GTR as my daily commuter, we live in Kalua and our small beach town is built for ESkates. look forward to more videos from you. Aloha and Mahalo Jayce, BTW Evolve needs to take better care of you, you are a good advertiser of there boards!! $6000 worth of sales just from me!! keep up da good work!!!!

      Hi Maria, I'm from Western Australia City of Wanneroo. Anyway, may I suggest and recommend the Black Hawk Electric range from Queensland. I have a pro series V3. It has reverse kingpin trucks, very stable at high speed, unlike double kingpin. Black Hawk has hub motors so no belts and motor plates to break. The pro has a top speed rated at 35 KPH and a range of 25 k and go up a hill of 20 to 25 percent ( steep) Greenmount out of Midland is 10 percent. Hub motors do feel a bit harsh compared to a belt . I ride regularly around Lake Joondalup and along west coast from Hillarys to bit south of Scarborough and back with no problems. The remote is easy to use one way to go and the other way to stop. It has 3 speed settings, not sure about the smaller boards.

The Stoke only gets about 5 miles here, unfortunately. I replaced the Stoke street wheels with Foamies and LOVE them. It’s almost like having AT wheels.

    1)Bamboo
    2)Stoke
    3)Carbon
    P.s.for people who weigh up to 75 kg it is better to choose bamboo. Because with such weight at high speed, even flex will not bother you because of the low weight. And from the carbon board (if you go on bad roads), on the contrary, you will be dumped by vibration. and if you weigh 80+ kg, then it’s all the same what deck to take (due to the large weight, vibration will not reset you)
    P.s.This is my personal observation, I interviewed several friends with carbon and bamboo

    Thanks for great comparison review. How much less ground clearance does the Bamboo have v. Carbon? Probably 1. Bamboo, 2. Carbon. Primary use would be off pavement riding the 7" AT wheels. Packed dirt, gravel roads. Nordic ski/running trails. Relatively lighter weight at 60kg. The flex feel of the Bamboo and option for shorter wheelbase are a plus for specific use.

It's such a light board too, even though i'd love a lonestar supersport it's just far too heavy (and expensive) I think this board is the sweet spot for most heavier urban commuters , Under 85kg i'd say go the bamboo!

    First - amazing videos, I love the details and how professional they are. Two - I realise I need to replace my boosted stealth. It's tempting to go out and find one of the last available boosted stealths, but it seems like that might be a mistake. To me it seems like the Evolve GTR Bamboo is the closest to the stealth (notwithstanding the weird jolt you mention in other videos, the different braking and the turning feeling you have to get used to) and it has extra range. Would you agree that the GTR Bamboo is the smart way forward, instead of getting one of the last Stealths that will be hard to maintain (despite how much I love it). Would love your opinion :)

    • @averageeskatereviews
      @averageeskatereviews  Před 4 lety +3

      100% Bamboo GTR is a great option but the deck isn’t as flexible and “springy” as the stealth. I still have mine. It will take a little bit of time to adjust to the remote and no reverse but I don’t miss that feature anymore. GTR is faster, MUCH better range and Evolve as a company are only growing.

      Holy sh*t. I thought I wrote that. I'm in the exact same spot as you. Love my Boosted Stealth and almost went to Boostedusa to grab one of the remaining few left but have felt drawn to try one of the Evolve boards. Just can't decide between the Carbon or Bamboo GTR because I want the flex, but I'm also about 205 lbs so I'm worried that so many reviews mention "heavier" people tending to the Carbon stiffness. Hope to figure out soon so I can give it a go. Solid review and great video as well @AverageEskatereviews you got yourself a new sub.

    Which is the best deck to get out of carbon or bamboo If I want to ride predominantly off road and I want to enjoy the comfort of the ride but also have fewer stacks and better control.
    BTW with a tall slim build the weight/flex of bamboo shouldn’t be a consideration

  • @xyyzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

    1. Bamboo
    2. Carbon

    I have a CGTR with an AT Setup but have been wondering getting the stoke as my second board. I was just going to swap the wheels on the GTR but thought it might be more convenient to just have a second board instead I could use for runs to the shop etc. Obviously UK roads are awful so I’m not sure whether moving to street wheels would be a good idea but the stoke looks like lots of fun. I’ve only started with e boarding 5 months ago so any advice would be great.

    • @averageeskatereviews
      @averageeskatereviews  Před 4 lety

      No gonna lie, I totally agree about the roads. If you’re riding on now fairly decent roads, the stoke is amazing. I personally wouldn’t use it to commute based on the shit roads but! Quick rides to the store or just going out somewhere I know is smooth for a blast is so much fun! I’ll also be flying with my Stoke a lot !

    • @marcstang
      @marcstang Před 4 lety

      That sounds great. The roads are awful but there are plenty of well tarmacked industrial estates and parks around here for lots of fun. It’s just a pain carrying the GTR downstairs every time I just want a quick blast or go down the shops. I know the stoke isn’t that much smaller but looks a bit easier to handle. I do love how easily you can ride up some small curbs on the AT wheels. Probably will have to re-plan some routes if I was getting a stoke.

    These boards are by far the best 4-wheeled eskateboards right now. Nothing simulates surfing like the 2x trucks. I see all these bros on Chinese made garbage and they all look like they’re NOT HAVING FUN. How many times can you go up and down the block in a straight line? With the Evolve boards you’ll have an infinite number of lines to carve. But DAMN they’re expensive. imo

Snowboarder here with a Onewheel, Carbon GTR and Stoke and now I’m curious if I should pick up the Bamboo too as I’ve always wanted to learn how to really carve when not on the snow. I reckon that you should get a bamboo deck because it feels really nice to carve on or the stoke depending how carvy you want to get. Or you can try to try them out at an evolve dealership. I am a snowboarder to it doesn’t feel exactly like carving on a snowboard but similar or pretty close

      How does your onewheel compare to your other boards? I’m a snowboarder as well and am trying to decide between a Onewheel+ XR and bamboo GTR

    • @KMC-we5uh
      @KMC-we5uh Před 3 lety +1

      Carlin Simmons to carve I love my CGTR with 6in pneumatics. The Stoke is also fun but much looser and more street carvy if that makes sense. The onewheels are fun but do not feel like snowboarding to me at all. I’m in the Northeast and we don’t get powder but have to edge a lot so that’s probably why it does not feel like boarding to me when on the Pint or XR. Picked up the BGTR too just for streetwheels and because this quarantining made me miss all my vacations this year so screw it!!

    • @whatthejack
      @whatthejack Před 3 lety

      KMC1978 great insight. Def leaning towards the BGTR for carvability. I haven’t tried either but it seems the most fun and snowboard-like. I just gotta get out and try them.

    Okay, I'm going to buy evolve board around May, and I have huge dilemma about which one should I get. I am a huge fan of longboard curving and I love the Flex but I'm a big person like 190cm tall and weighting 90kg so the carbon is the one for me isn't it, like I love the look I love the longer length, I will ride over speed bumps but the curving... And there is another problem 6 inch or 7 inch wheels, I know that you really like the 6 ich but I feel like 7 is for me. I would be super thankful if you could reply to this...

    • @averageeskatereviews
      @averageeskatereviews  Před 4 lety +3

      6 inch vs 7 inch comes down to: Higher speed, not maximum comfort and shorter range vs Slower top speed, max comfort and better range. What is more important to you? That is your answer :)
