In a nutshell, I ‘m an avid dumpster diver, scrapper, picker, treasure hunter and underwater connoisseur. I prowl the city streets in search of dumpster loot, curbside treasures & scrap metal as well as scour the river bottoms for lost valuables during the summer months when I can scrounge up enough money for gas. Thats honesty a great idea. Revolving income from free dumpster finds. Thats an easy $50-100+ per event.

I knew the places and times...still know some...even in Vegas...ate very well...fresh weekend left over deli...now a Type 2 Diabetic...back in CA...I did help...
They could be donated to a church.
People of the age of around 20 to 35 yrs are wasteful the need to be in the depression era
My Grandmother would save hosery with ripes in them, lent from the dryer and stuffed animals and pillows withit

Those chairs are (HDX) Home Depot’s branded folding chairs, they sell for about $24 each.
They're gonna have to call ya "chairman "of the board after that 1st dumpster!

I find it amazing that people would trash all those chairs when they could be given to a thrift shop or shelter. That is sad.

there was an entire wedding reception of chairs in that one dumpster. i could see if there were something wrong with them, but they looked to be in perfect shape. i mean WTF!?! have they never heard of a consignment auction? we're frickin doomed by ijits, DOOOOMED I SAY!
You could set up those chairs and a couple big screens you've found, invite the neighbors over, pop open the wine and watch reruns of Mike The Scavenger...

But IF YOU DO BREATHE THE VAPORS IN (really...don't do it) IMMEDIATELY DRINK A GLASS OF MILK. Something about lactose and fats coating exposed mouth and throat tissue. Got that from a graybeard welder about 20 years ago. I haven't had reason to try it, but I trusted him. Made it sound bad enough for me to be extra careful about not welding or torch-cutting it.

The fumes you mentioned are because the Zinc coating converts to the toxic gas on Galvanized metals.
That toxic gas can ruin your entire body and can kill you. It's something like fosgene gas.
Unintentional phosphine gas exposure is rare but has a toxic profile that results in a high fatality rate with no known antidote.

I remember cross stitching , we learned it in school ,its a simple form of embroidery Ive still got a few pieces I made stashed away in a box somewhere.

Ladder is only held together with rivets. 10 minuets with a grinder and you could have all the aluminum separated...

The big green and blue rolled up thing in the dumpster that had the shoes is a mat to lay down at the beach. It's perfect because it doesn't collect sand like towels do. I didn't know if you ever learned about what that thing was or why it was valuable but that would have sold at a yard sale in a second. In fact you probably could have sold that on Facebook marketplace or offer up

I have a set of knock down steel restaurant shelves in my basement that I found when driving the back alleys of Manhattan, ks in the early 80's from a defunct restaurant that was being remodeled when we were first married. I still dumpster dive for glass at the recycling bins that I get canning jars, wine bottles, and some dishes on occasion. People better wake up and quit throwing perfectly good stuff away. We may not always be able to buy new.

Garage sale them chairs for $4 each, first customer will buy them all! One of your best finds ever in terms of ease of selling them.
Show the craft stuff and boots/clothes to Mrs Scavenger. As for the chairs, some local restaurant will get them off your hands if they're in good shape. $100 bring a truck! As for the pink tank, a local artist who does metal work turns those into yard art. Piggies. Sell like hotcakes too.

If you have a buddy with a plasma cutter see if he would cut cylinders for you. If he cuts them in half I'm sure you can scrap them.
