Can't wait to see you get yours, hopefully sooner than later. I love watching the Rapido fly along at ridiculous speed, but it's a little disturbing seeing that leeward ama almost completely submerged.
Looks like this boat is so fast that when weather gets rough, just heave too and sail when weather improves Wonder how fast this tri would go with tail wind. Guessing much less than beam.
Seconded on Frank's comment: any boat looks amazing (ok, perhaps not this amazing ;) in a beautiful breeze and flat water, but how about an apex sea from 20 knots? 25? 30? And in view of what we've done to our climate, I'd sure love to see her riding out some force 10+ in the open ocean (yes, even given that outrunning a hurricane in this boat would probably not be the least pleasant thing I've ever done?). I'd be happy to run the test... I think... ;)
@H. Kirk And any salesman knows that you can take money from fools by showing your product only under ideal circumstances because fools will forget to ask what happens when things go bad. Hence my question. SHOW me how the boat responds as it's pushed to its limits, because every sailor knows that he will make mistakes, and it's important to study how the boat will respond when you screw up (or choose to go out in weather because it keeps the damn motorboats at home ;)
@H. Kirk Nice video. I've met Jens Quorning and he's brilliant---I'd love any of his boats! I've had my F-22 out in 30 knots of wind a few times, but not in open water. I've been at sea in storms in a few different boats, but never a multihull. Given the number of monohull sailors out there your guess about me wasn't terrible, but I'm specifically interested in how the boat in the video handles different conditions. M&M know what they're doing so it's probably some form of good, but there's still a lot of leeway for choices they'll have made for seaworthiness, seakindliness, speed, dryness, light-air speed, heavy-weather speed, handling, etc. How much like an ORMA 60 vs Neel 65, and in what ways?
Absolutely agree. I dont like how that leeward hull dives in relatively flat water (1:03)...that situación with big seas and strong winds could be near to capsize.
The term you are looking for is "badly". That open cockpit is fatigue waiting to happen. One would definitely need an experienced racing crew. Husband and wife cruisers, ha, ha, ha. This is a coastal or day sailor, in spite of its length. Too bad, too. If it was advertised as a rich person's toy, that would be the market. Sailing around Florida and the Bahamas, heck yes, impress the girls. Two weeks oceanic? Hell no.
Can someone explain to me why trimarans are faster than catamarans? In every video of a trimaran going fast I only see two of the hulls in the water at any time!
That's what trimarans generally are, monohulls with amas. If you're talking about hull-spanning main deck cruisers like Neel, those boats aren't traditional trimarans despite the triple hulls.
Ama looks to have about half the minimum buoyancy I would want. It was buried even it those gentle conditions. I hope... is it La Vagabond? know what they're doing.
Trimarans on paper are supposed to be safer. Superior righting moment means they can heel more without risk of capsizing. How much this bears out in reality probably depends more on the specific boats being considered rather than the number of hulls. Also, in case of impacts leading to hull penetration, having three hulls is much safer than a cat or mono.
O Lord my God in Jesus name please bless all that operate the Rapido with good winds, good health, and good company, 😊 thank-you almighty Holy one the only living wise God, Amen.
I think this is my favourite of these videos.

Riley, are you going to race her?
This such a perfect moment captured in time. Pure beauty.
Having fun on Romanza - one speedy Tri - well done Rapido, well done.
Beautiful😍
This is not a yacht - it is a work of art!
I want one The speed love it well done
Goodonyah mates fantastic.
I think it would rock in an anchorage.
It looks like the main sail was reefed in and kept a good SOG
Great video😊😊👍❤️👍❤️ fantastic trimarans

I need a rapido!
My dream boat, but I’m not sure it would be a great fit for a family of 4, a dog and occasional guests. Such a great boat though.
That’s not an Ama it’s a Torpedo! 🥺❤️🖖🏼
it looks like it could easily capsize in heavy seas...more so than a regular catamaran iMHO!
This is a race boat. Look many race boats in a similar configuration have capsized in the past couple of years on open sea races. Not funny.
@@allenwinston9225 imho means “In my humble opinion.” Just to mention that 🤔🖖🏼
Can the pontoon bury and flip the boat?
DANG!

Is there a place for a dingy? Can everything be run on electric? Is this good for a family of four?
The low-side float seems to want to submerge. A lot of spray over the top of it. Not sure how that would behave in rough waters.
I second your comment, that leeward hull looks like it wants to pearl, doesn't look like the blue water hot rod that I thought it was!!!

All the fast tri's are foiling now...
Yeah, I was wondering where the foils were.
Apparently, the Rapido 40 will have foils.

Hmmmmm....I'll take Neel 51 any day, with its massive cockpit and lounging area....
@balls bag poor quality build? How so? what makes you say that? You have data? And yes, its plenty fast, matching wind speeds up to 12 knts or so...
@balls bag REally!!? Well. I didn't know, and read about this sort of stuff.....plus, the rapido has no room. ITs tiny
@balls bag I've seen this. This is just their personal opinion. They are not proving its poorly built....Just that its not for them.
@balls bag Rapido = small Tri. I couldnt fit my cock in that thing. It better be fast...
@balls bag HA!! Not interested!!!
Sweetas
shouldnt be classified as a trimaran its just a mono with training pontoons

Just don't like how far the starboard pontoon is in the water, not a fan of tri's. Maybe fast but not as safe as a multi-hull cat.
Is there a single hull cat?
@@TOMVUTHEPIMP of course there isn't, what's the point of your question.
