Ok so you need alpha core on hull deconstructor and hull forge and also to not have the progressive s-mods (mods with exp mod) for this to work.I had progrsssive s mods in my playthrough and it allows to use ship exp to build in s mods but for balance above 3 s mods increases deplyment cost
i was planning on having progressive S-mods on next playthrough when starsector updates, you know starsector when you add or update mods they might break. haha

im pretty sure there is/was a way to et even more s mods from an station event instead of using the special colony industry , just find the station and feed in the blueprint it would consume an alpha core and give you 1 or 2 extra innate smods , like the one that says automated construction, apart from that give you smods(green), there was also some randomness involved, such as feeding it more cores/supplies/ships or not being able to choose which ship gets builded i dont really remember the details since it was so long ago, but i do remember getting pursued to the left upper fringes by a pirate after getting my fleet decimated, sacrificing my ships for a single astral with all the shield smods and innate rugged construction or armor and using my kitchen sink/torpedo astral to murder the pirates for fuel
the ancient ruins have deferent description in the last part of the text. the key words are: Misreported ruins location - Rift Generator Weapons pointed at itself - Hull Deconstructor Dormant Nanoforge - Hull Constructor Arcane signatures - Laboratory.

You can rewrite the deployment cost penalty in the mod.

Since ill assume your DP point vs enemy DP point will determine if you'll get bonus XP.

its a mod called Grand Colonies but if you add more it will add -10% per buld of the planets income.
