Joker pre arsene is a worse Sheik. He doesn't get as much traction from his comboes nor does he have the frame data nor does he get advantage state as well, not to mention he's disadvantage state is worse than Sheiks. People always say that "Sheik does no damage" yet at 17:20 Void went on a 30-40 long spree of not getting hit and snuffing out Spargos options head on like twice, and he's CLOUD. That doesn't even mention that he even got the stock along with it.
Joker with Arsene is an entirely different archetype of character that does 2-3 move strings max, so saying that's a better Sheik doesn't make sense because Joker stops being a combo oriented character at that point.
Watch Voids MU chart when he talks about it, if anything Fox is oftentimes a better Sheik, Joker follows a different gameplan than her

People were hating on Sparg0 for not getting the last hit to kill in game 5, saying he chocked, but it's impressive enough how he was down a ton the entire game and brought it to last hit in the first place

@@everyonesaidmynamewasstupi3713 Exactly. You'd think it'd be the other way around because how well Cloud does mid range, but then you realize needles apply much more pressure than limit charge or blade Beam and take into account how easy it is for Sheik to get in and it's bad
@@typhlosion7872 yeah. sheik does really well against sword characters in general, her and greninja are probably the two best in terms of that mid range bait and punish game against swords, so neutral can be really hard for characters like cloud. with her needles she can force the initiative and with her mobility and frame data she can sort of dance around cloud and get in on him quite easily when those openings happen
VoiD is incredible. That really becomes apparent when you consider that Sheik is one of the most technically demanding characters in the game.

Heart was pounding while watching this live, mostly because I knew void had it in him and he did it. Also, I’ve noticed that a way to tell when void is playing at his peak is when he’s able to land the rain drop (drag down up airs into up smash) and he’s been landing those this weekend, especially against one of the best players in the world. Void is amazing.
Slight correction: raindrop is specifically ftilt->drag down uair onto platform->drop through platform with a drag down uair again->upsmash
Sparg0 at last place is not something I expected
I think his “karmita” karma was that he popped off too early the last game when he upsmashed and thought he had the game but the real pop off was void god damn this was so Intense to watch. Kudos to both players, they’re amazing

VoiD barely even plays this game competitively anymore. Him training for a bit and coming back to beat Spargo is absolutely nuts.
The best part ab that last clip Void was patience and completely still, he stayed still, and held shield, and waited for Sparg0 to panic and drop shield. It’s insane how patient he is.
I have mad respect for anybody who uses Sheik. Sheik is the character you pick if you want to make the game 500% harder for yourself. I love seeing Void succeed. Dude, I wish the camera panned over to the wingman who went INSANE after the match was over. That was like super-saiyan level wingman energy lol

Love the theme of this summit, so pretty! Cherry blossom represent new beginnings and optimism for the future and im optimistic smash ultimate isnt going away anytime soon. Despite the setbacks we love this game too much to let it go 😤💯

@@tomasbedoya2901 Literally any smash attack there would've killed since he had rage and was nearing side of the stage, Void just overthought it (can't blame em)
he wasn’t try to get sweetspot down tilt since you literally cant get it off of drag down upair (unless you jab which he didnt). Down smash wouldve connected but probably would not have killed (still best option) and forward smash is almost never true there, so if he was wrong about it he would’ve just died for it. Dsmash was a better option but it wouldn’t have won him the game either.
@@mrfahrenheit6114 He definately was aming for the sweetspot, he has done that exact same thing before, I don't know how he manages to do it but he does. Fsmash is very much true at that percent, it actually is true from 90 to around 130 depending on rage

That last stock was EVERYTHING. As amazing as spargo is, he got really desperate at the end there for the kill. Void really maintained his composure, and the final combo really demonstrated how prepared he was. GREAT MATCH

Watched this live but needed to come here to see it again. I truly believe this was one of the greatest sets of all time. That ending for Void was without a doubt one of the most hype things I have seen in this game! Absolutely insane!
What's funny about this set? Summit 3, he won against Master the exact same way. If you've watched Void's recent stream on this: Both Maister and Sparg0 buffered up-smash on the exact frame that Void F-tilted for the game winning stock. The fucking balls and mentality Void has to not be afraid is insane LOL.

The music here was HYPE
I noticed void changed up his style of play. I'm past matches he was only offense and that didn't workout too well for him. In this fight I noticed he was more patient and calculated and it paid off.

Spargo did the premature pop-off because he thought he got the tipper usmash. Usually it's really easy to get, so that's understandable. I saw in the frame by frame how it hit Sheik's inner leg first.

This has been a JOURNEY for VoiD. In case you weren't here for it, or maybe you don't remember, the set that more than anything else put this wildly talented young smash player Sparg0 on the map was him 3-0'ing VoiD in I think year one while VoiD was maining Pichu. They've had some ups and downs in their sets, but with everything VoiD does outside of Smash, I'm sure he never felt like he evened the score with Sparg0. I'm sure he finally feels it now. Well done VoiD, and well done also to Sparg0, two absolute GOATs of Smash

I respect void so much. I remember back in smash 4 when everyone picked up sheik as a trend but void stuck with her straight through ult. Ofc sheik in ult is a very skill based character as her combos are weak and her kill moves are precise. She is one of my favorite characters to watch

Holy shit bruh these two are GODS. So hype. I can't believe Spargo almost stole that game away with that crazy wall jump + limit recovery and then catches Void with the up smash and BARELY doesn't kill because Void has godlike DI and then balls of steel and exeuted so perfectly to be able to clutch it out with the drag down to up smash confirm.
Wasnt just a dragdown upsmash, it was a full raindrop, ftilt dragdown platform drop dragdown upsmash. Unlike a normal stray dragdown catch into upsmash, it is a VERY technical true combo with many different variations on the sideways stick drifts, djump and fastfall timings, turnarounds, amounts of dragdown hits post plat drop for a true upsmash, and even the platform dropdown timings that change on a per-character basis and have to be adapted to chase DI.
Works on nearly the whole cast but learning all the variations for every character archetype is also stupid hard. Trust me when i say this, keeping in mind i went on the grind for this combo alone for hundreds of hours and still cant hit it consistently: VoiD going for it on a losers bracket last stock situation against a top 3 player, against cloud (not one of the easy raindrop targets), starting straight from the risky stray ftilt, and hitting it perfectly, was fucking ridiculous, dudes an actual mechanical god gamer with godlike mental and balls of steel to top it off.
I miss Void Pichu. He was the pinnacle at one point! Sad when Pichu was nerfed to the ground because Void was an entertainer for sure. ❤
