My family is from the Muscle Shoals Area. At first I thought it might have been The Swampers or one of the other groups there on the horns, but it turns out it was the section at Stax records, sometimes identified as "Booker T. and the M.G’s."
Real people playing real horns with that special soul the style is hard to beat!

My name is Carl as well, and I came hear to hear Otis sing as this is one of my favorite, but let me say this, the first thing I said to a friend of mine as we were watching Courtney sing this song was "Man this little chick is channeling Janis. He replied Hell to the yea, and then Howie started in on his story and we both immediately knew who he was talking about before he even said her name and we in shock that we weren't the only ones thinking this.
