    One of the great masterpieces on American Theatre. Not just this song but all of them. Harvey Schmidt is a genius.

    My favorite show ever. The Mummers, in OKC in the 60's, did The Fantasticks (using the R word), and it began a lifelong love affair. The cast album was played many times in our house.

    Always thought the show’s songs should be played like pieces by Erik Satie: the sentiments complex but restrained, deceptively simple. In a word, French. This performance seems to me perfect.
