- Apparently each card version of Urza is meant to be busted - and this one is no exception. While there're many ways to build this iteration of Urza, I decided to make the most of his abilities by not only comboing off but by also assembling a huge army of huge beaters.

I've never realized that Heartstone was a symmetrical effect. Now I get to stop and think about how many times I've missed out on that!
Yup! It's one of the reasons I'm wary when playing it. But, since Zirda is RW and Training Grounds is an enchantment, Heartstone it is!
(Technically, you can also do the trick of turning Training Grounds into an artifact to copy it that way and bypass the symmetry of Heartstone, but that's too much work. The benefits of doing it with Heartstone outweighs the risk.)
There it is boys! This is the best Deck tech I've seen from the whole set. I'd love to see about making a deck with four tutors just to pull this out but use him with my chief artificer.

I'm super excited to build this as I pulled a foil, extended art version of UPoK. There are a few other game changing effects and finishers I'm looking at as well for the deck:
Halo Fountain/Midnight clock - can be nuts assuming you're using the untapped U/W artifact lands or azorius signet. with enough card draw, midnight clock is overkill though. Also, halo fountains card draw is valuable on its own to untap two of our copies
Blasting station/rocket Launcher/walking ballista/Knight paladin - if you can go infinite with mana, you just win
Helm of the host - Get UPoK's without legendary to stack that lord effect.
Intruder alarm - allows for going infinite to happen much easier since the UPoK copies are creatures

Yeah, once you're going infinite, where you choose to invest that infinity is up to your tastes and preferences. WU definitely has no shortage of outlets for that 😆
One big brained move you could do is to have Sculpting Steel or Impostor Mech NOT enter as a copy of anything, but copy them with Urza so you have flexibility in terms of what you copy over the course of the game!
Mhm! That's definitely an amazing strat! I used to do that with Progenitor Mimic in INN/RTR Standard thanks to Master Biomancer. Much shenanigans were had :P
@TheCommanderTavern building off of the first comment would the token of sculpting steel be a 1/1 soldier or would it be a regular artifact
This and Mishra, Eminent One are my favorite legendaries from this set!
I think if I build the deck, I'll take out Mycosynth Lattice, since I've lost too many times to Karn and Mycosynth on the board, and I don't want to do that to anyone else. Fantastic video as always!

For sure, that's why I mentioned it. Both cards are amazing in the deck but once one of them is out, putting the other on the field is an instant game over. So if you're running both you'd need restraint if you don't want to end the game that way.
I like to play the Lattice without Karn. With the Lattice you can copy everyting and dont have to fear an overloaded Vandelblast or Farewell on Artifacts. Its some Kind of protection

As long as you can give your power stone shards haste, you can go infinite with them once you have 6.
I don't know if this has been pointed out yet but you could Copy it might stone and weak stone, choose to keep the token then slap Helm of the host on it, and if all goes to plan you can continue to copy it without having to get rid of one.
You'd have to animate The Mightstone and Weakstone first in order to be able to equip Helm of the Host onto it.
@@TheCommanderTavern That's why you use Urzas ability on it to turn it into a 1/1 soldier then put the mask on it, I do the same thing with the power stone to help go infinite faster

@@TheCommanderTavern If things are hazey you can play a Portal to Phyrexia and copy that get a board wipe and can get multiple cards from a grave, even Mirror Gallery to make multiple helm of the hosts
@@papapaypal2947 That's definitely some spicy tech. But if Helm of the Host is a 1/1 soldier, then you can't equip it onto a creature, sadly :(

I don't think so, unfortunately. Right now I'm finishing up on March of the Machine to then deal with Aftermath, then the DnD movie Secret Lair, and resume what I started with the Lord of the Rings set.
Why do you make copies of Nettlecyst? The copy is a creature and cant equip something. And the +1/+1 goes only on the equip creature. Do i miss something here?
Copying Nettlecyst also gives you phyrexian germ tokens. If you have ways of pumping your whole board, things like Anointed Procession get out of hand very quickly as you're adding 4 creatures to your board by copying a single Nettlecyst. Hope that clears it up!
You get the germ token but it is dying because it is not an artifact token. The nettlecyst falls of because the copy is a creature and cant equip the germ. So if i dont use other pump effects i end with a 3/3 nettlecyst?
@@modernviking7800 Exactly. But like I said, without other ways to pump the germs they'll die (which is why I mentioned ways to pump your board).
You don't have to copy Nettlecyst anyways. I'm kind of lost on your fixation of me pointing that out.
