Must be a little demoralizing to be 178-0 in high school then get man handled in college...i was 32-2 my senior yr and got 3rd in states in nj ..back then i wondered why i got no offers at all... now im much older and now i know why...i probably would have been average in d3...maybe 4 now that i look back
3rd in states in nj is good af. Some wrestlers just don't make the transition to college well. Nino bonnocorsi didn't even win state and he won a national title

It all depends on where you are (developmentally & geographically) & how well you transition into collegiate. If your a competitive wrestler in PA here in HS, you generally will be considered for a D1 program.
I had mat side seats there you can see me and my friend the whole dual 😂
even the worse guys in division 1 wrestling were crazy in HS. The guy wrestling fix was 178-0 in HS and he can barely scrape by in division 1 LOL.

Yeah and he didn’t drop out of the tournament after he lost to the eventual champ and world champ now. Anyway, 3 time runner up and 4 time all American, etc. maybe this will be the year?
