- TLDR: Blink is best jump because speed and safety. I either snipe with cloudstrike or shotgun. I pair austringer or SMG. I go for 4mob, 10res, 10recov, 10 dis, 4 str. Child of the old gods always on. Devour for 6s. Overcharge for 3s.

The slide bug happens with blink in general. When you expend your third blink charge you get the long blink cooldown which is what's causing the slide lockout. They fixed a similar issue with phoenix dive not long ago so hopefully they'll get around to fixing blink.

I can only use Cloudstrike with Dragon’s Shadow. It’s very sluggish and deserves the handling buff you mentioned.

Try it with On your Mark Gunslinger aspect. Makes even the most sluggish guns snappy and quick to reload. I wish they kept the old stability buffs from practice makes perfect for it too

Secondly: I seriously enjoy you explaining your build, the logic behind it and the playstyle it enables. The only thing which always stumps me: how on Gods green earth do I pick the one which suits me? I mean, there are so many options which have a high skill ceiling and can be mastered (something I enjoy with the builds) but with the limited time at hand, how do you choose where to invest your resources?
An easy way is to choose based on the sounds the weapons make
I'd say it purely does depend on both feel, and your general playstyle with the game as a whole. Like for me, I'm a titan so presumably i'd just anteaus w/shotgun, or some busted classy restoration w/ loreley build, but rather I enjoy fast-paced, semi-aggressive combat using a good bow, Huckleberry and PK's.
tl;dr do what feels best and most enjoyable for you. METAs change, but fun is forever.

1:16 fyi this is caused specifically after all 3 jumps are used. If you plan on using this exotic just keep that in mind and play around it.

I've been using Blink alongside a Glaive recently, it has been deceptively effective in the close range to mix people up!
Also thank you for pointing out the slide bug, I have been noticing it when not running Astrocyte though as well. I thought I was going crazy!
Bruh I have 2k glaives kills and a blinkshot from cover turns you into a raid boss. It feels to me that a glaive hipfire has no aerial penalty? I get em every time.
Mida multitool and calus minitool with enhanced threat detector/surrounded is my go to on blinklock. It’s great for solo queuing trials cause you can sit back and let your teammates be aggressive while getting easy three taps or be aggressive as hell with a combination of abilities and smg if you’ve gotta pull more weight

Ok the fact that you can blink past a nova bomb or just past anyone using their super is huge, definitely going to use that to my advantage.
Love it. You might consider checking out a CZcamsr name Roger. He is a small channel, but he has put out all kinds of cool Blink focused stuff including unique Blink interactions with the terrain to let him bounce high into the air. It's his favorite, and I learned a lot about voidwalker and Blink. A collab would be incredible!

My current build with the helmet is Suros Regime and either a fusion rifle or the enigma. My super is Nova Warp. Since the changes they made to Suros, the auto rifle has 61 AE. The glaive is nice because it allows me to blink and get easy damage or a clean up. For the super, you can use the Nova dash into a blink and it'll give you lots of distance. I've been using this similar build since season 15. Hugely slept on. I also did not notice a slide bug after using blink too many times. I'll have to try that out, thank you.

I use astro blink fairly often nowadays, as weapons i use steady rds snap vorpal uzume for extra ae and either dfa with std rds times payload or osteo Stiga which allows to be axtremy aggressive. Blink a corner and stiga out they die before you even hit the ground.

The slide bug is similar to back before Solar 3's Phoenix dive where you can't slide until phoenix dive is useable again
I love astrocyte. Best exotic in the game hands down. People get confused about how to counter blink, and it’s so good for any play style:
Fast movement and positioning for long range builds (sniper, pulse, scout)
Fast and aggressive movement for closer play styles (smg, sidearm, hand cannon kind of)
God save blink
I main blink, but the only downside is that the hit box is elongated. Meaning you will be killed from where you blinked from. Even if you are already in the air.

I love Blink, but never managed to get a Cloudstrike, so I just used Lorentz instead. However, my favorite blink+astrocyte build has to be Prometheus Lens. I has built-in AOE when you're hip firing so just in case you aren't nailing the enemy, you still get some damage, and it reloads itself when you kill someone!

Astrocyte Blink is my go to when on void walker in crucible. It is soooo good.
Blink main here, thanks for highlighting the slide bug. You should also know Astrocyte has a suicide bug under certain conditions. These 2 bugs have been in the game since season 8?
Give glaives a try with blink. There's a particular manoeuvre that is very successful after practice. It's blinkshot, blink from cover towards an enemy tag them in their air (glaive hipfire feels as if it has no penalty) and boom instant shields now you're a raid boss cash in kills.
Is Astrocyte a requirement in your opinion? Ive been a TTD + Ophidian main since I started D2 but the skill ceiling and kit util for Blink Voidwalker is making me seriously consider putting the time in to get as fluid on Blink as I am on Dawnblade
Having slide lockout and trash weapon handling is a pretty big tradeoff for the better subclass kit

Astrocyte Verse is required imo for Novawarp and or aggressive fast paced and reactive play. Purely because of the ability to double jump. Base blink forces a cooldown inbetween blinks despite whatever charge number you're on. So it goes:
Blink-delay-blink-cooldown-blink-delay-longer cooldwn. This is for base blink if you use charges as much as possible.
Man ngl even tho most of these builds should work for anyone, you are also just built different when it comes to destiny pvp. Must have taken a lot of time to get up to that level.

Been using exclusively blink all season. I think it gets some extra points on console where the ol' "float above the doorway with a shotgun" is still very common. I raise you this. Just blink through.

i love blink especially with astrocyte. i like to dedicate time to only use blink to git gud with it. i kinda wish it would reload on-hand weapon on blink. that would probably be the only thing i’d add to it’s perk

Heritage and tarrabah are my go to when blink if Voidwalker ever gets a 4th aspect I’ll drop chaos accelerant and pick that one up

Back when Hunters could blink in D1 I did something similar, where I blinked through a nova bomb and then sliced them from the back
hey cam returning player here, played back when not forgotten had just gotten super nerfed and was super disappointed and have been leveling up my stasis titan ever since (biggest mistake of my life for not doing it on my hunter)

I haven't used blink since the d1 blink shotgun days but seeing this is gonna make me get back into it. Gonna take some getting used to, I haven't jumped on warlock with more than 2 mobility in god knows how long.
That's the fun part, you don't need mobility to blink. It only affects your drift distance before and after the jump.
@@brysoj I used to be kinda alright at blink jumping, but having that much more mobility just fries all the muscle memory in my head. I dunno how to blink directly forward anymore because it takes noticeably longer to get to the apex of my jump than it did before
@@son_ofspartacus2376 Maybe you built your mobility too high? The higher the stat the longer it takes to get to the jump apex or past it because now you're travelling further? Or am I just making up bs here ahaha
@@brysoj You're right about how mobility works there, i'm just stating that even though it will eventually be beneficial to have as high a mobility as that, it'll just take some practice and getting used to.

Oh man the devour boots are great, cocky titans with their Lorely cower in fear when you hit them with one(1) thorny boy and suddenly their recovery's gone. I wish wish WISH empowering rift had the range extension that Lunafaction gives it (as in a buff to range of weapons and thus aim assist too)
Honestly, I've enjoyed using blink without astrocyte verse lately. Still very good for avoiding sniper angles and getting out of shotgun range
Without it though you can't double jump and for me that's essential for reactive play and getting to lanes first.

ayo cam btw how do your stat splits look on your armor? is it big spikes like 2 pieces with 30 resil and 30 discipline and 2 peices with high recovery and high discipline or more of a balanced between resil recov and discipline

Escape velocity is such an interesting smg, it’s basically Multimach with some worse base stats and more niche perks, but those niche perks can be extremely effective in the right situations. Until Multimach was reissued, escape velocity was my main smg, with the sunset Y1 Multimach and Y1 Showrunner being a great alternate.
Interestingly, escape velocity with model 8 red scope didn’t receive the same zoom change that Multimach did. While I still prefer my Multimach (no iron reach, it’s overrated on controller imo), it’s cool that escape velocity sits at 16 zoom.

I ran iron reach on an unmodded controller the entire time it was out, zoom and high fov carries it and makes it much more possible, along with a tiny amount of stick down

Love the cloudstrike. run it on titan with Peacekeepers currently. The multikill potential is just too good to not use it sometimes
I convinced one of my friends who always runs a sniper to start maining it just because of that. With the ammo changes I think it has only gained value

So I didn't know about the slide thing so I might have to get back used to base warlock jump until it gets fix. But I use blinklock 3 type of ways, an aggressive blink gameplay with a smg and shotty, a more passive aggressive style with rather a smg, sidearm, or 180, and a sniper or scout, and lastly a even more passive style that takes it slow and uses and scout to pick people off and a smg for rushers and you know it works but the slide bug is fucking me over cause I slide a lot if om not blinking around the map to get off angles and cause people off gaurd.

The Astrocyte slide bug is just one of many game breaking bugs that relate directly to the absolute basic movements/ actions in this game - and it's not the first of its kind, the same bug used to occur with Phoenix Dive 2 seasons back. It's utterly baffling how complacent bungie is with letting some of the most fundamental aspects of the moment to moment gameplay being busted up. Jaw dropping levels of incompetence from them, and that's not even mentioning stuff like the text chat bug where strangers could kick you from the match because of which the Text Chat is still disabled as of this moment lmao.

He’s playing warlock so he doesn’t have smoke and dilation does not do this. But it does seem like old middle tree nightstalker with the precision kill invis
Edit: the only thing I can think is that the hunter on his team provides the invis at the same time cammy snipes and it covers the sound. Seems unlikely tho

Maybe it’s just me, but blink feels like a detriment. I die so many times mid blink. So much so I’m convinced the hitbox lags and doesn’t move until blink is finished.
