Basic Quilted Christmas Ornament Tutorial - English

To make this ornament you will need:
- An 8 cm / 3 inch polystyrene/EPS ball.
- 2 different cotton quilt fabrics. (From the main fabric 32 rectangles and from the accent fabric 24, from 7 x 4 cm or 1 1/2 by 2 3/4 inch)
- A strip from one of the fabrics (28 x 4 cm or 11 by 1 1/2 to 2 inches)
- Ribbon, 3 times 66 cm or 26 inch.
- Ribbon for the hanger, 15 cm or 6 inch.
- Flexible measuring tape.
- Thimble.
- Trickmarker or fineliner in a color of your choice.
- A lot of 18 mm pins.
- Scissors.
- Hobbyglue.
- Lighter.
- Decoration /floralpin about 6-7 cms long or about 2,5 inch.
- A paper strip

Your voice brought back fond memories of my neighbor who was from Holland . She was an older lady and taught me to crosstitch, knit sweaters and make quark tarts . She has since passed away and I miss her dearly . She sang Dutch songs to our youngest child ,!

Another trick to keep short pins from coming out. Take a square of cardboard and put a small amount of glue on it as you are ready to stick the pen first dip the point of the pen into the glue and then into the ball. It will dry and secure it better into the ball.

I would like to try making a 9.6 cm ball. have you ever done one and if so how would I go about it with all the measurements and such?
You can add an extra layer or cut the rectangles a bit larger. About 9 x 5 cm for your ball.

I just saw your video, which I enjoyed very much. Where can I find the paper strips you used to measure your marks on the circumference of the ball? I hope I can find them in the USA. Thank you.
Thank you Terri! The strips I use are math paper with the metric system; just because I had them at hand. You can just use ordinary printing paper and divide in 8 as shown in the video.
Where do you purchase the foam balls with the markings on the top and bottom?
At a wholesaler in the Netherlands.
What is the.measurements of the.fabric you cut? Are they.all the same.cut?
