WHITEWATER CENTER #16 | CHARLOTTE TRAIL RANKINGS 2024

Moving back 6 spots from the previous rankings we have the Whitewater Center. WWC has a ton of trails so if XC is your thing, you will probably love it here. However, there are many places in Charlotte that are much much better. There are minimal features out here and the features that are there, are not maintained very well and are in poor shape. You also have to pay for parking which at the moment is $12 per day or $40 for a yearly parking pass. A great thing about WWC is that they have cold beer for after your XC ride which makes it a great spot for group rides. In my opinion, the more people you have to ride with here, the more fun that it is.

Just got into rock climbing and wanna have something to do in between climbing. Was thinking about a road bike but this looks a lot more fun. I’m close by WWC, are the trails there for biking and hiking? Seems kind of dangerous.

Anything fun involves a smidge of danger. Yes, there are walkers on the trails at WWC as well but they’re supposed* to go in the opposite direction as bikes. Trails there are not that fast so it’s not really an issue

The place itself is awesome because I kayak, but for mountain biking, it’s a a big hot steaming pile of shit 😭
