She has said several times that this album is an ode to a really negative headspace that she was in when she made it, on top of being one of the most successful Vtubers in the world. Like she's at the pinnacle, and she got there very fast, but she also had a long career before it, grinding out albums and streams until she shot up like a rocket when her company, Hololive, picked her up.
It's been a mind-fucker, as you can imagine. She loves her fans, she loves her co-workers, she loves her company, but her success has even more insular & isolated, which has made her even more introspective, and exploring your own mind and psyche can be...difficult. I think that's why this song is so chaotic. Even in her fast raps, it sounds slightly out of tune and in reverb, as if the words are leaving her head so fast she can barely control it, and when she sings it sounds like she didn't try to get the "best" version, just the one that resonated the most with her mindset.
I guess I'm kinda randomly asking but does anyone know a good place to watch newly released series online?

Mori did a lyric breakdown video for her entire EP, and now for the past hour I've been looking to see other people's reactions to these tracks. I highly recommend you give Bully a listen, kind of break it down yourself a bit, and then once it digests, go listen to her take on it. It adds a whole new level of depth to these tracks that weighs heavy on you when you listen to it again.
Also, a thing you might have missed if you're not familiar with her streaming side of things is the bit about the cards. "I'll bet my heart on the cards because I trust me the least." Those cards in the video represent her genmates/coworkers who she has a good relationship with.
Yep, the entire album connects on a different level.
Hitting a million fans in four months after grinding for most of a decade is gonna mess with anybodies head, but there are few people on this planet more deserving of the recognition
Imma be honest. Her track 'Guh' hits hard. It has a more familiar beat and rhythm. You should check it out.
Edit: She knows how to write and make you think about it. I really like her pen.

If you don't know she is a grim reaper like character. So the tarot cards are her co-workers, and she is the Death tarot card.

Her new EP is pretty good. I like "The Grim Reaper is a Live-Streamer" and "Guh" the most. I think "Off With Their Heads" is the hottest track before the new releases. Some of her other songs like "Live Again" and "Cursed Night" are great too. She does a great job of writing in character but also keeping it real. I like her.
I think the last few words summarize what it's about "I'd rather just fade away" and "when this red runs black" and "was I everything you imagined?" and many other parts it's about when she's done being relevant and gone, how will she be remembered? and she'd rather just "fade away" instead of being remembered in a bad light.
5:40 - Tool and Meshuggah are both incredibly apt comparisons, lyrically.

I didn't think about it before, but Mori's songs are really something to deconstruct like you said. Like you mentioned how some parts are probably made to be fast and slow, it reminds me of when writing you can control the tempo of a reader. Sometimes, things are made to be rtead or heard fast to produce a certain chaos or feeling like what happens at 8:12. Kind of crazy to think about how much thinking is potentially going on when producing something like this!

Just found your channel through this video and I really like your overall vibe and the way you analyze the lyrics. If you did videos or streams digging deeper into the lyrics of songs and giving your interpretations of them, I would definitely be there for it, because I feel like some really interesting thoughts and discussions could come out of that.
Listen to her whole EP! My favorite is "GUH" lol. GUH means the sound when you finish taking a sip or chug of out of a wine or booze or even regular drinks lol. It's like the sound of satisfaction when you drink something good. At least for Calli XD

You mentioned the idea of doing a lyric breakdown as a stream. I don't know if you ever did or not, cause I'm new to the channel, but she actually did a lyric dive stream where she talked through her intent with the lyrics.
Some great catches, especially with so little context! Now that you know more about her other side, I hope you get a chance to look at her works around this time again, because the added context can really make some parts hit different. I thought she was cool before, but putting 2 and 2 together there was what made me an actual fan.

I interpret the last segment of the song as calli expressing that she prefers kinda just stopping all at once instead of grasping at straws when she reaches the end of her carrer
So Mori has mentioned that wordplay is what she really enjoys about rap. Your right to point out that there are layers to her lyrics. There's a lot of wordplay in please rip mixing Japanese and English you missed. Her rhyming schemes are also often quite complicated.
