Looks great! I just modified a 30L MyTrail pack to have 5 mesh pockets (1main rear and 2 on each side), a shoulder strap mesh pocket, and a bottom pocket. Can't wait to head out tomorrow!
Loaded mine up today for the first time. It’s my first, true frame-less pack. A question for you on ride position. Of course the answer that matters is the one that feels the best for you, but do you find that the pack rides most comfortable when you have it high on your back near the base of your neck? And the shoulder straps wide on your shoulders? I have not yet Trail tested it, but this seems like it might be the most comfortable for me. When I do this the shoulder strap pockets end up kind of in my armpits though.
Nice. Looks like a great pack. I received my KS4 recently and I'm concerned it doesn't fit me too well. My Gossamer G4-20 fits way better, bit adds a lot of weight compared to super UL packs. May try this palante if I don't like the KS. Thx!
Compared to dcf will this material absorb water and become heavier? Even if it has a dwr finish or a pu coating it will still “wet out” in a long enough down pour right?!k x
yes, compared to DCF and even xpac this material will be more prone to staying wet. trade off is weight and better abrasion resistence. woven fabrics roll with the punches better than rigid laminates due to their flexible nature. that being said, it should dry quickly, and not trap in water if it does get inside, which is a huge plus imo
With the V2 being 31L (16" Version) and 38L (19" Version) and the Joey being 28L and this pack being overall smaller at 18" how much Volume L do you guys assume it has? Seems like it should be right around the Joey Pack Size. Which would make it not really usable as a Thru-Hike Pack for really most people unless you are extremely UL AND can hike 32+ Miles a day so that the pack with food is enough for you for 3-4 days because you cover the distance that someone else would need 7-14 Days for.
The newer models have different shoulder straps. I miss the old ones. The new ones are gridstop and have grosgrain edging” sewed in the sides which makes them feel more uncomfortable, stiffer, and narrower. Sure they will be more durable but they feel like crap honestly.
Nice Jup but the problem for me is I am a 6'4" and everything in my equipment is bigger than average, I am going well with a 50l lightweight pack but -40l is just impossible and that's the reality for most of people around me. But hey interesting to see how you guys getting lighter and lighter till you need some lead in the shoes to prevent you from lifting up😜
Will John re-upload/make his videos public again? I have bad anxiety and his videos are the only thing that calm me down. This video was very reminiscent of that.
This video made me understand why people ditch their fully functional phones just to get the newest iphone right after it's launch. And it was a nice too see jupiter.
I wish I could purchase this pack, but the entire pa'lante business is MIA!! I've tried to contact the company but the email bounced back. Please come back! 😭😭😭
Come on man, when are you going to reply to anyone about John Z’s situation? We just want to know if he’s ok. JOHN WE MISS YOU AND CARE ABOUT YOU. THANK YOU FOR YOUR BEAUTIFUL HIKING VIDEOS. HOPE YOU’RE OK.
give the man some privacy. i am sure having people constantly ask on youtube, instagram, and reddit doesn't encourage a dude who has spent a thousand days alone outdoors.
A great spokes-person choice - BTW...
Looks great. Excellent design as always. I am getting a bit obsessed with packs and this is temping me again. Great vid Jupiter!

Cool new pack! I would love to see a comparison with this and the Joey.
This looks like a great pack but damn I don’t know if I’m ultralight enough yet to fit into that
Such a rad trail Jup is hiking. Red Mountain Trail #159 is a must if you are day hiking in AZ. Also, great video and even better pack. Cheers!
I really thought I was watching Jupiter’s channel lol. I have the Joey but haven’t taken it hiking 🥾 yet. A camo version would look great! 👍🏻
Nice looks great!
Glad to hear John Z is still alive...
Oooo ya. Drool worthy. Cool changes. I like the evolution.
Dream and so well engineered.
Coolest guy in the world. Another great video Jupiter 🤙🏾
I’m surprised to see a cinch top! I’d like to try it
I'm definitely due for another trip in the backcountry

Similar to the original RayWay pack. One update I would like to see on all the ul packs is monofilament mesh on the back to help with moisture.

my KS4 should get here within the week. what are your first impressions? what specs did you get?
Hello, I am looking for a light weight pack. I will have to check them out. Take Care and Keep Exploring The Outdoors.
Nice.
Cool cool.
But you should've included the capacity / size of the pack. Looks like ~24 L? How much is it (inside and total)?
its around there, about 26 for the inside of the pack. we dont measure pockets.
Jupiter!
Has Palante fixed the issue with the water bottle holders? Smart water bottles simply fall out of the sides.
we use smart water bottles and they hold in pretty good!
When are they going to be in stock??

Yeah boyyyyyyy
When is it releasing? Can’t show me a pack I can’t buy

i asked Andrew i think on Instagram when the pack was being teased and i am pretty sure it was mentioned to be around the 30l range, and around 11oz
Couldn’t agree more.
@@alexhonken Interesting, wonder if the Joey is also gonna shrink with that in mind. Also makes it hard to pick between them, being so similar.
@@johnschmitt3083 they are not really similar. The strap system makes a pretty big difference.
They responded on their ig to this question saying it was 18” at about 35

What yoyos were you carrying i that shoulder strap Jupiter ?
Its a yoyofactory loop 720; always been a 1a player even competing for a number of years but 2a just lends itself to easy stretches of trail so well

Will John re-upload/make his videos public again? I have bad anxiety and his videos are the only thing that calm me down. This video was very reminiscent of that.
i know, right! i miss his videos too. they are like art videos . i really wanted to watch his pct videos with "heaps" in them but they are all gone.

@@alexhonken Mate, I'm simply asking if he's ok. It never hurt anybody for them to know people are concerned about their welfare.
Nice bag! Though I could live without Jupiter lol
Heresy!
